FINALLY, EVERYTHING WAS settled. Eros was now deceased, and I overall felt satisfied. We revealed his acts and plan of becoming God including the so-called incidents he manipulated himself before the citizens, and he surprisingly confirmed it on the Guillotine which made it a bit easier for us. Rocielle was also banished from the entire capital and the palace.

Like Medea said before, she handled everything else for me which made her quite busy.  Of course, the news of me ascending to becoming the emperor was spread all over the empire and they heard of Eros's wrongdoings as well.

Perion was busy getting rid of all the corrupted priests in the temple, as well as the ones working with Eros before. While I prepared for my official coronation.

Some were opposed to me being the Crowned heir and were in a heated debate about me. They even proposed that Perion should become the emperor instead, as he is the third in line for the throne. I couldn't help but laugh at that, isn't he already the guardian of the empire?

Either way, I had significant power and have already made alliances with neighboring countries. They couldn't say I knew nothing about being a ruler either since I received education about ruling over the empire ever since I was young.

I was experienced in handling state affairs too, and quite charitable. They aren't able to say anything else because I am more than fit to become emperor.

They cannot deny the influence I have over the empire, some say it seems that I was planning this way before but I won't say anything since it is true. I was also working on driving out the former Crown Prince's factions.

It had been such a busy week for me, from holding meetings with the Royal council to preparing for my coronation diligently.

I walked towards my mother's chambers silently, with no one trailing behind me like I requested. When Psyche suddenly went away that night, it was to try and heal my mother.

Fortunately, Psyche was just in time and managed to save her from the verge of death. But, my mother was in a coma ever since. There was no telling whether or not she will awake.

The royal physician told me that my mother consumed bits of poison mixed into her food every day and little by little it affected her. It was likely the reason why mother seemed frail and sick those past few months.

The Emperor however, was already in a frail state. He did hear the news though, he couldn't help but congratulate me. "Mother," I whisper softly, interlacing my fingers with hers.

I closed my eyes momentarily, heaving a languid sigh. The warmth that was still there comforted me, as I pursed my lips. I tried to visit mother whenever I was free or finished with my work for the day.

I retracted my hand and stood up slowly. My gaze lingered on her figure before I walked away yet paused briefly to glance at her. "Until next time, mother."
