You were so excited to finally spend some alone time with Taylor. It's been a while since you two were out on a date due to both of your busy schedules. She's been working on a new album and you've been dealing with your final exams and university in general.

But today was your 1 year anniversary, so you decided to spend the whole day together, cutting out all the work and studying.

You couldn't believe it's been a year since you're first official date. You remembered that day all too well. It was perfect. Just like your relationship so far. You loved being with Taylor, it was truly amazing. You've always wanted a love like this, you've always dreamed of a partner like her. You loved being in love with her. Of course, you had your ups and downs, just like every other couple has, but these things made your relationship stronger.

So there you were, sitting in a fancy restaurant to have a nice dinner together. You wore your favorite black, silk dress that you knew Taylor loved (well, mostly to take off but oh well).

"I'm so happy we could make it today. We should do this more often, I'm just getting tired of all the work and stuff. Plus, your finals gonna be over soon, right?" Taylor asked while she reached for your hand across the table.

"Yeah, I've still got two anatomy exams but after next week, I'll be free as a bird" you cracked a smile while brushed your thumb over her knuckles.

"And after 6 more months, you're gonna be the most beautiful, amazing doctor I've ever met" she smiled back at you. You couldn't help but giggle at her words and nod your head.

You were about to reply when a waitress walked to your table, ready to take your orders.

"Do you guys know what you're going to eat?" she asked. You looked at Taylor who just playfully shrugged her shoulders.

"Guess I'll have to go first" you chuckled. "I would like a bowl of pesto pasta, please" the waitress wrote your order down in her phone and turned her full attention to Taylor.

"And what can I get to you, beautiful?" uhm, excuse me?! Isn't it obvious that this is a date?! That we are a couple?!

You looked at Taylor confused, she had a light shade of pink on her cheeks and an awkward smile on her face. Seriously?!

"Can I have the same, please? Also, a glass of Pinot Grigio. Thank you" she handed the menu back to the girl.

"Whatever you would like, pretty girl, but I'm 100 percent sure I can serve you so much more than these" she winked.

"You've got to be kidding me right now" you scoffed and rolled your eyes. "Don't wanna ruin your moment with my girlfriend, God forbid, but we would like to have a nice little anniversary dinner if you don't mind. So, will you please just get the things we ordered and leave us alone?! Thank you for you kindness, love."

"I'm so sorry, I didn't know you guys were a couple.  I wouldn't start complimenting her if I do" the girl defended.

"Yeah, you clearly didn't know. I mean, how could you?! It's just two girls in a fancy restaurant, all dressed up, being lovey-dovey, holding hands and laughing. You're right, it was so unexpected that we are a couple" I sighed.

The waitress opened her mouth and slowly closed it. She repeated the movement again and again. She was shocked. So was Taylor and to be fair, so were you. You knew that you could be overprotective of people you care about but you've never done anything like that before.

The girl decided it's best if she leaves before you get even angrier at her. Which, you were prepared for, she irritated you a lot.

"I swear to god, I could just beat the living shit out of her" you whispered.

"And what would you tell the judge? 'Sorry, your honor, it was just a feminine urge?!' Oh my god, Y/N. I get it, you just wanted to stand out for our relationship, but you have to learn how to control your feelings and emotions when it comes to situations like this." Taylor had a serious look on her face, but deep down she found it extremely hot how angry you get.

"I know, it's surprising for me as well that I acted like that. It's unusual. I just don't like when people flirt with you and on top of that, they pretend I don't exist nor you're single" your girlfriend cracked a smile and slowly got up from her seat and walked right in front of you.

Now, she was sitting on the ground, both of her hands are on your knees. She didn't care about the people around you. She didn't care what they would think, she didn't care that you were in a fancy, crowded restaurant.

"They can say whatever they want, Y/N. The only person, the only girl that matters to me is you. You're my girlfriend, my everything, my muse, the love of my life. My soon to be doctor" she winked and continued. "As long as I want you, you shouldn't be worried about who wants me, okay?" you just nodded your head, not trusting your voice enough. "Good. Now give me a kiss, so that girl knows that you belong with me."

"I can't believe you just used a line from one of your songs" you laughed as you stroked her cheek gently.

"If it isn't the perks of being a singer..." she laughed and pulled you into a loving, passionate kiss.

You knew you overreacted a little, but losing your girlfriend was the last thing you wanted, of course you become extra protective when it comes to her.

After all, you had an amazing dinner with Taylor, you talked about a lot of things, you could forget about your upcoming exams a little and you were able to celebrate the best year of your lives so far, knowing well that you'll be inseparable for a long, long time.
