Blind date

It was Sunday afternoon, you were little disappointed you hadn't heard back from Tony, but obviously there were some rules he wasn't willing to give in on. That was too bad, you would have welcomed the opportunity. Fury had come by for his usual breakfast that morning, and asked what your plans were for the day. You rolled your eyes and told him about the blind date and he rolled his eye as well.
"She just doesn't want you to feel alone" he sighed while eating his eggs.
"I'm not alone. I have you, I have Daisy and I have Maria. That's more than enough" you announced giving half your toast to Daisy under the table.
"Tony might not give up his rule you know, are you sure you can live with that?" he asked you before leaving.
"Then he doesn't deserve the team he has. Bucky, was his name? If he needs a service animal for his PTSD, then he should be allowed it" you crossed your arms stubbornly. "That's what Daisy is to me" you shrugged.
"I know pumpkin" Fury sighed. "I just don't want you to live with regrets"
"This coming from the king of spies" you chuckled as he left.
Now you stood in your bedroom with a short blue satin dress with a white lace that went over top trying to put on your makeup evenly. You had perfected the cats eye liner and added browns and golds to keep things neutral before putting on a deep red lipstick to finish the look. You wanted to be a little bold. You looked at the time, and it was after six and knew you had to get a move on. You put on your black pumps and put on your black leather jacket. You double checked your hair which was up in an elegant bun, with tear drop earrings to set off the look. You frowned. You didn't want to go on another blind date. You wanted to find someone on your own.
A knock came at your door, and you pulled open the door to see a tall handsome man in a black leather jacket, short hair, and piercing blue eyes. You had seen him in your fathers' files. It was James Buchanan Barnes, and you took in a small intake of breath. He was the most handsome man you had ever seen in your life, in person at least. He gave a crooked smile looking you up and down not saying anything for a moment.
"Hi" you flushed a deep red.
"Hi, I'm Bucky" he reached out his hand, suddenly and flushed a bit himself. "Are you Y/N?" his smile got a little bigger.
"I am the one and only" you heard Daisy come over and give a small growl and a bark.
"Wow" he smiled again, then seemed to remember himself. "I wanted to thank you, they got me a therapy cat named Alpine. Tony lifted his ban on animals at the compound, and asked me if I would come and see if you'd reconsider his offer" he licked his lips still looking you up and down, but trying to be discrete.
"Tell him its been reconsidered, but I need time to get everything packed for moving. I'd like to see the compound and my room to start" you smiled at him. He was so easy on the eyes, and his smile made you weak in the knees.
"I can show you now" he offered.
"I'd love to" you stepped out, then slapped your forehead. "Wait, I cant" you stopped yourself, and locked the door behind you and he took a few steps back so not to crowd you.
"You can't?" he seemed disappointed.
"Blind date, I promised Maria I wouldn't screw it up again" you gave an apologetic smile.
"A dame like you needs a blind date!?" he seemed surprised at the notion.
You let out a giggle. "You'd be surprised, once guys know you can kick their ass, they usually back off pretty quickly"
"I'd love to have you kick my ass" he mumbled to himself, but you caught it.
"Maybe in training" you winked at him. "Be good Daisy" you called through the door. "I have an overnight recon scheduled for tomorrow, but I should be free after that. Here's my number" you pulled out a piece of paper and pen from your purse. "Let me know when its good to come by, I'll bring Daisy and talk to Tony and Steve about the specifics of me moving over then"
"I'll text you... call you" Bucky corrected himself.
"Make sure you do" you giggled and walked down the hallway to the door to get to your car. You saw a motorcycle in the spot next to your car and knew instinctively it was Bucky's. The man had good taste. You peeled out of the parking lot and made your way to the restaurant, knowing already you might be a few minutes late.

Nick didn't show up for your date. Not that you had expected any different. You ordered lasagna and had a glass of wine while you sat by yourself, and messaged Maria sending her a selfie of you by your lonesome. She sent a bunch of explicit messages about how she was going to kick his ass, then commenting on how cute you looked. You wanted to shrug it off. Maybe she would finally let it go that you needed to continue dating. Your thoughts went back to Bucky, and how handsome he looked when he knocked on your door. The dark jeans, and white Henley looked so good on him with the leather jacket and those boots. He looked like he oozed of good sex, which is something you hadn't had since... well... ever. Everytime you had sex; it was always disappointing. You never got to cum, and it was always an "I'll call you" and they never really called. If they did call, it was for another hook up, but not what you were looking for. That's why you stopped at two dates now. You didn't want to be disappointed again. You had your rabbit for the nights you were in the mood. After seeing Bucky, you knew the rabbit would be coming out for some playtime. Since he was going to be a co-worker, he was also going to be off limits. That didn't mean you couldn't fantasize about it though. You got a text from an unknown number asking how your date was. You responded with "peachy", and went back to your lasagna. For all you knew, it could be the asshole that stood you up. When the waiter came to ask if you wanted dessert, you asked for a large slice of tiramisuto go, and finished your lasagna. You finally went back to your phone and saw a question mark from the unknown number.
Y/N: who is this?
Unknown number: Bucky
Y/N: ah, I thought you were the guy that stood me up
Unknown number: He stood you up?
Y/N: Happens all the time. I'm headed home soon anyways.
Unknown number: What kinda man stands up a dame like you?
Y/N: Every kind
Unknown number: What restaurant are you at?
Y/N: I'm just paying my bill and going home. Did you deliver my message to Tony?
Unknown number: Yeah, I told him. He seems happy.
Y/N: Thank you
You put your phone back in your purse and waited for the bill. Once the waiter came you left a handsome tip,and took your take-out container. You slid into your car, and sighed to yourself wondering if you should stop somewhere and grab a coffee while you were at it, but decided against it. You had a mission in the morning that would require a full night's sleep beforehand. You turned on your Spotify and hooked it up to the Bluetooth blasting some of yourfavorite tunes. You might have gone overthe speed limit trying to get home, but you figured after being stood up again, you were good with it. Tears would be easy to come up with if you got pulled over. You slid into your spot and grabbed your takeout bringing it with youand put your phone in your purse. You textedyour dad that you made it home, and Maria who swore she would kick Nick's assthe next time she saw him. You curled upwith Daisy on the couch and started digging into your tiramisu. You heard a knock at your door and groaned before getting up to answer it. Nothing could have prepared you for what was on the other side of the door.
