It All Started With A Cookie (Cake)

Chapter 4

Calum's POV

It's weekend so we don't have class. I forgot i have to go work in the convenience store which is i don't like.

i don't like working, it's not i'm lazy. I just don't like going outside. They don't accept me. Everyone is going to hurt me. I'm safe here.

I walk like a zombie going to the bathroom and fix my hair. I prepare breakfast and get ready.

I put my black hoodie (which is in the media) so that people don't recognize me. I put my black skinny jeans. And black vans.

But this time. I didn't put bracelets on my arm because it's not allowed having more accesories on my work. Luckily i'm wearing long sleeve to hide the cuts.

I locked everything and got out of my flat. I always walk going there, it's not far. it's like 20 minutes walk to go there.

I took out my cellphone out of my pocket and i remember what Luke said last night.

Well atleast he knew. Now he will avoid me in school. I don't have friend now. I thought that cookie is the start of our friendship.

I don't know what to say. I didn't respond to his text. I ignored it.

I bow my head. I put my phone back in my pocket and continue walking.

After a long walk i got here in the seven eleven. I open the glass door and the first person i see is Gabriel.

Yup he is my work mate here. That's why were a little bit close in school. But he doesn't want to be close with me.

It's because of my sexuality. He's afraid to be bullied in school. But here in store were totally friends because no one is watching us here.

"Morning Cal" he tapped my shoulder and do his work

"Mornin'" i answered back

My position here is in cashier. While Gabriel is the one to fix everything is damaged. Lights, tables, chairs. Everything he fix.

I walk inside the counter and starts to do my job.

*time skip

It's lunch break. Me and Gabriel always eat here in the stock room.

"Hey Cal. How are you?" Gabriel breaks the silence

"I'm fine. Great" he just chuckled

"Did Luke texts you? He asked me for your number remember?" He said finishing his lunch

"Yeah. He knows i'm gay" i answered and take a sip of coke

"Oh, he doesn't know when you guys are in the school?"

"No. I didn't tell him. He'll just avoid me if i do. I thought he wouldn't know" i said and got my phone out

"It's the boys i guess. Who says Luke. Is he mad?" He asked

"Actually i don't know. I didn't respond to his text" i said staring at Luke's text

"Why don't you find out?" He smiles and stand up

"We have to go back to work" he continued and got out of the room

I tapped the reply button and typed

To: Luke

"I'm sorry Luke for not telling you. Yeah, i'm gay. See? I told you when you found out everything you will avoid me. If you don't want to be my friend it's okay"

I hit the send button and wait for the message to be sent before going out of the room.

We continued working and working. Its almost 11pm now and my shift is until tommorrow morning. So it means i will not sleep!
