It All Started With A Cookie (Cake)

Chapter 6

Calum's POV

I open the notebook and started to read it.

Dear diary,

Hey it's Luke, again. I remember the first time i wrote a diary. But unfortunately i lost it. So i bought a new one. Anyway today i remeber the time when i admit what my real sexuality to my mom. It's her birthday when i admitted it in our living room. We have a family gathering there and i thought it's the right to tell everyone in the family.

After the party we are cleaning the house when i suddenly break the silence. "Hey mom. Can i talk to you for a second" i said in nervous tone. My mom said "sure" i decided to talk to her alone in the garden.

When we got there my mom was so happy that her birthday goes well. I don't know how to start this thing. I know my mom would not accept me. So i already packed my things on my room. I packed everything my clothes shoes and everything. I already written a letter that saying goodbye to my mom incase she didnt accept me. I know this thing is very serious because my mom counts on me. She expect me everything. I am her only son. My father left my mom after he knew my mom is pregnant. So she only got me in her life.

"Uhm mom. I'm sorry to say but i'm confused of my sexuality" after i said that she's in shock. "Sorry mom but i'm gay. I'm so sorry" i said bravely. After what happened i knew my mom would not accept me. All she said that night is that i can leave now. My mom was crying there and i don't know what to do. I grabbed my backpack and stick the note on my wardrobe and left. The note says:

Hi mom,

Now you already know what my sexuality. If you're reading this now, i'm so sorry again that i disappointed you. I know you're expecting everything from me. I found out my real me when i am sick. When i got fever. When you're not home because you're on a field trip with your friends. My classmate is the only here when i am sick. He was taking care of me. Cuddling me and make me happy. Until i feel well. I started to have feelings to a guy. I'm so sorry mom. I love you so so much.

I don't know where to go. I am walking in the middle of the city and found a cheap place to rent with. Luckily i have money i earned from school. And also i took the money where my mom put her excess money. I didn't sleep peacefully because of what happened there. I decided to write this diary because i don't have anyone to talk with. That's all for now.

After the first page. My eyes are starting to blur because of the tears. Luke is watching a movie on his laptop giving me time to read it. I turn another page and started to read it.

Dear diary,

Today is the first day i woke up without my mom. I'm on my flat now and there's no one here. I missed how my mom prepare my breakfast. How she used to hug me before going to school.

After what happened between me and my mom. I did the same thing to my friends. Like my mom. They don't accept. Now i'm eating here in the cafeteria alone with my tray. I always hear the students blabbering around me. I got bullied for being gay. So i decided to study in different school. But this time i will not tell anyone what my real sexuality is.

Everytime i'm on my room. I listen to happy musics to replace my emotion into a happy thoughts . but i ended up by writing a song. I called it 'beside you' it was a sad song. That's all for today. ××Luke

I turned more pages and found there was more.

Dear diary,

It's been days since i left mom. I really missed her. But she don't want me. She don't accept me. My friends don't like me. Everyone's gonna hurt me.

It was a rainy night today. I decided to go in a mall or something to buy some foods. I ended up in a mall walking to find foods. But unfortunately, what i see is not foods. It's my mom. Yup i saw mom. She was in a toy store paying a penguin stuff toy. Which is my favorite animal.

My eyes starting to produce tears. I really missed her. But i remember she don't like me. I snapped out of the thought. I walk to the supermarket and grabbed everything i need. Breads, Cereals, and some Pop tarts.

After i got home. I put everthing on shelf. And listen to some tunes. After a minute. I can't hold it. Big fat tears started to escape from my eyes. My pillows are wet now. I'm so girly. Why am i crying. That's all. ××Luke

After i finished the first 3 pages a sob come out from me. Luke heard it but i said i didn't sob. His life is hell. I continued to read the next page.

Dear diary,

Hey. Today is not sad day. I met a friend there when i am in the convenience store eating my lunch. His name is Jacob. So this is what happens. I was eating my lunch when Jacob took a seat beside me. He saw my eyes are red and fluffy. He asked what is wrong but i answered nothing. I said i don't talk to strangers but he's kinda friendly so i continued to talk to him. Besides i need someone to talk to. After i told him what actually happened, Everything. He said were similar. Then he started to tell his story. Yeah were a bit similar because he's gay too. Yup he was forced to leave by his dad. So i decided to ask him to stay with me because he have no where to go. He said yes and we got to my flat.

Jacob and i were really close. We hang out together. We eat together. Take care of me. But unfortunately one day, his uncle forced him to go with him. I don't know why. But i feel very sad that day. We say goodbye to each other and he gave me a black bracelet. We used to text each other but not much. that's it. ××Luke

Luke sit beside me and hugged me sideways. He lean his head to my shoulder while watching on his laptop. I ignored him and continue reading.

Dear diary,

hey today is my first day to study here in my new school. This school is a bit nice not like to other school i studied. There are trimmed grass there. Fresh air. Trees. Clean sorroundings. Lockers. Nice rooms. And i hope nice students.

I walk in my room and took a sit at the back. I'm new here. I don't know how the system works here. Now i'm writing crap here to keep myself busy because i'm not good in socializing with people.

Then. There's this late mysterious boy with tan skin with nice hair and jawline. i know he sit beside i see in the corner of my eyes. His staring at me but i continue writing to this--

After that last sentence. "What page are you in?" He asked not making eye contact

"Fourth page" but after i continue reading. He grabbed his diary quickly and put it in his bag

"Hey what's the problem?" I ask him and give him a confused look.

"Uhm.. err.. it's not finished. I'm hungry, let's eat" he said avoiding ny question

"Sounds cool. Let's eat in a mall. Come on" i said excited

"And let's go shopping" he said and winked

"Oh Luke you're so girly" i said and chuckled

"Come on!" He said opening the door

"You're going with your pajamas on?" And we both laugh

"Okay. Let's get ready" he said and chuckled

After we get ready. I locked evrything and took a cab to a mall downtown.
