Andy's POV

"LADDER 19, ENGINE 19, AID CAR 19, PRT REQUESTED AT #456-458 LEWIS STREET."

"That's- that's James' day care..." I whispered before hearing loud footsteps running up to me

"Andy..." said the only voice to calm down the raging anxiety going crazy in my body.

"Robert..." I whispered while tearing up

"It's okay, he's going to be okay, let's go alright, come..." he said softly into my forehead before kissing it

"Alright 19 let's get moving NOW!" Robert yelled still holding me. I need to get myself together, I am a captain but at the same time my baby boy is more important that a title. I rather lose my job for falling apart than lose my son. But in order to not lose my baby, I need to get my myself together. So I flipped the captain switch on

"LET'S MOVE NOW!" I yelled as I jumped into the engine...

"Andy that's J's daycare..." Vic whispered from the backseat

"I know..." I replied

"He's okay... don't worry..." Maya glanced over. I couldn't handle them trying to calm me down, I just switched them off. I love and appreciate what they're doing but the only way I can be calm is if I see my baby boy outside that building...

"Oh no." I said jumping out of the truck.

"Come on Andy! Pull yourself together!" I whispered under my breath

"19!" I yelled to get their attention

"Warren, Miller fire attack, Gibson, Bishop, Dixon evac, Montgomery, Hughes aid car..."

Everyone did as they were told no questions asked.

"Requesting Battalion Chief Sullivan on site." I said into my radio while walking to a caretaker I recognized from this morning

"Copy, on my way." He replied almost immediately

"Hi, I'm Captain Herrera... how many people are there still inside?" I asked the young girl

"About 6 adults and maybe 8 children..." she replied not looking confident

"Bishop there are about 14 people inside, 6 adults, 8 kids..." I said into the radio

"Copy." She replied

"Is James Sullivan out?" I asked sternly

"Who?" She replied causing me to be more annoyed

"James Sullivan. My son."

"I don't think so.....I'm so sorry ma'am, I'm new here..."

"I figured." I whispered walking off.

"Bishop. James is inside." I radioed

"We'll get him Captain, we'll get everyone out." She radioed back

"Captain Herrera." I heard my husband's Chief voice behind me

"Chief." I replied trying to stay professional

"He's inside isn't he?" He asked softly sounding like he's falling apart

"He is..." I looked up at him with tears in my eye

"Bishop report to me." He radioed

"We got all the adults, about five kids, no injuries... they're guiding us to the rest of the children." She radioed back

"Is James there?" I radioed in

"No Andy, I will find him I promise..." She radioed

"Robert..." I whispered feeling like I was falling apart

"Come here..." he said bring me into his embrace

"If I have to go in there and get him myself I am going." I said sternly into his ear still hugging him

"And I'm right behind you..."

BOOM!

The west side of the building exploded.
