"so, where are your parents?" he asks.
"oh, they threw me out when they found out i was a stripper for about a year, " i reply as i look around nonchalantly.
he stays silent looking at me, slight uncomfort shown on his face.
"just kidding," i say after a minute of silence. relief passes through his face and a small chuckle escapes.
"they're dead."
