Humans have 24 chromosomes, whereas Lynark have 720.

Their R/DNA has properties of both viral RNA and mammalian DNA. It's through this that they can inject their R/DNA with any number of traits the choose through their upper canines.

This allows them to save the lives of any animal or person still alive, even if they're dismembered.

If someone just died, a Lynark can inject their R/DNA and begin CPR and the person will pull through. It does not matter how old or young the individual is.

Their genome is always in a constant state of flux and this allows them to rearrange the traits of their genes and assume any physical form whether it be human or animal, real or imagined.

The only limit to this ability is that they cannot change the overall shape of their chromosomes to change their gender.

Their mental stability would shatter if they tried because they would be psychologically stripped of their personality and self identity, becoming a psychopath with no love, empathy or conscience.

(See Section 7: Psychology)

Due to the nature of their brain stem, their genetics allow them to grow a new infant body, post mortem, and start life over and over again.
