CHAPTER NINE: cafe & baseball

NICKLAUS SWAN SAT NEXT TO HIS FATHER, BACK AT CARVER CAFE. Bella was late, walking in and sitting in the seat next to Klaus, and in front of her dad. "Sorry, I'm late. Biology project." Bella lied.
"I ordered you the spinach salad. I hope that's okay," Charlies tells Bella.
"You should order one for yourself next time," Bella replied. "Cut back on stake."
Klaus gasped. "Ask him to stop breathing while you are at it."
"You should order a salad too, Klaus."
"Are we sure she's yours?" Klaus leaned forward to ask his father.
"Hey, I'm as healthy as a horse," Charlie replied to Bella, then looked at Klaus. "Talk to your brother."
"Say, Chief," Cora speaks. "boys want to know, you find anything down by Queets River today?"
Charlie realized that many of the people there, where listening in. Charlie sighed. "Yeah., we found a bare human footprint, but it looks like whoever that is is headed east, so Kitsap Country sheriff is going to take over from here."
