Think of a ladder, every step you take the higher you will climb. Elements of Writing is the same, every prompt members write will have to include a different element of writing. For example, round one, they have to write the prompt in first person using the characters sight, hearing, feeling and smell to show the scene.
This activity will require judges no more than three, who will read the scenes and give out points. 1-5, with ten being the best scene and one being the not so good one. This can be altered. If a writer is given 5 points for their scene they will move up 5 rungs on the ladder. If they get one point they move up one rung; if they don't submit a scene then they won't be moving up any rungs, but they can take part in the next prompt. At the end of the challenge, the member with the most points will win.
