Mary's Point of View
I sat in the library trying to focus on my book. But I can't, due the the fact that Francis is sitting across from me. Trying to dislike Francis is the hardest thing ever. No matter how much I try I just can't. But I am doing a good job of making him think I don't like him. I could just feel him looking at me. "Stop it." I said still looking down at my book. "Stop what? Stop reading? I thought you liked educated men." He laughed "No, stop looking at me." I said, I like when he looks at me. "Why? You're so pretty." He said, I felt butterflies though me. "You just can't help flirting can you?" I asked "No not with you." He said "Why did you come in here? More importantly who told you I was in here?" I asked setting my book down. "Who do you think told me?" He asked, he is so annoying. Why can't he just answer the question? "I asked first." I said "Well your Father is very persistent we spend more time together, he said I might find you here." He said. I don't know why he is acting like this, I may like him but I know he doesn't like me. I see him be just as flirty with other girls, when he doesn't think i'm looking. "Of course he said that." I rolled my eyes. "You know you can act like you dislike me all you want, I'm still the same man you met in town. The one who made you laugh and smile." He said "You're right, you and that man are both liars." I gave a bitchy smile. "Mary that was a mistake, I apologized. I want to prove myself to
you." He said "Stop it, you don't want to get married and neither do you. So I don't know why you keep chasing me around acting like later tonight you won't go partying with the castle harlots." I said, he didn't say anything. I turned around and walked out. I take back what I said before, I don't like him. I'll never like him. I walked out of the library and saw James. "James!" I ran to him "Mary" He smiled, I jumped into his arms. I missed him so much. He set me down. "Where have you been? Why didn't you tell me you were leaving?" I raised my voice "I was away on a hunting trip, I didn't know all this was going on." He said "This has been a living hell." I said "Why?" He asked "Because I'm being forced to get married, but you weren't there so you didn't hear about it!" I said hitting shoulder "I'm sorry! Okay?" He said "Fine." I said "You can't be too upset, you know you would have to get married eventually." He said "What? Yes I can be upset!" I said, Francis came out of the library. "James?" He smiled. What the hell is going on? "Francis! How are you?" James smiled "What? How do you two know each other?" I asked "I met Francis when I went to Paris last year" James said "And you never thought to tell me?" I asked "No, you didn't tell me who you were being forced to marry." He said as Francis got closer. "And why didn't you mention you knew my brother?" I asked "Because then I'd have to explain where I met him, and I don't want to do that" Francis laughed "Where did you meet?" I asked "Um.. a brothel. But a very classy one." James smiled "Really? A classy brothel?" I asked "Yes." Francis said trying not to laugh. "Well, I'll leave you to be. James maybe you can show Francis the local brothel, but I'm sure it's not like any of the ones you frequent in France." I said with attitude then walked away "What is her problem?" James asked "Oh I have a story to tell you." Francis said.
