Hollys POV

I felt pure terror run through me as I saw that awful insect fall to the floor. My stomach churned, that disgusting bug had sunk its teeth in and injected its poison into me.

"P-p-Peter?? Wh-what kinda spider is that..." I gasped.

He looked terrified. Like he knew something I didn't. "Peter?" I asked again.

"I- I don't know. It doesn't look very nice though.." he mumbled.

I hurriedly picked up all my stuff off the floor and threw it back into my purse. I practically sprinted out of the building, completely disregarding peters existence.

I ran outside and leaned up against the cold marble pillar as I tried to stop hyperventilating. I'd always felt this irrational fear towards bugs and I never knew why.

Peter ran up from behind me and stroked me on the back. "Hey Holly, it's gonna be alright. It's-" he gulped, "just a bug."

"I- I know. I'm sorry I'm just so... so scared of them. I don't know why." I said.

"It's ok. It's ok. Your leg ok?" he asked.

"Yeah, yeah. It's fine. We still on for lunch?" I asked.

He nodded at me. "Wanna take the subway down there?" I asked.

"Sure." He said.

We walked down the mildewy New York stairs to get in the subway. I pushed a quarter from my purse in the slot, then another for Peter. We pushed through the turnstile and hopped onto the subway.

"You don't come on here often." I said.

"What'd make you think that?" He asked.

"You're looking all around. Like it's an art museum. You look scared almost." I laughed.

"You're right, I don't." He laughed back.

"Our stop is next. It's busy at the next one. Get off quick." I said.

The intercom beeped, "attention passengers, we are arriving at station B. Please exit the subway now if this is your stop."

"Exit now Parker." I teased.

"Yeah, yeah." He said.

We arrived at Johnny Boys Diner and I got us a table for two.

"I'm starving." Peter added.

"I'm not anymore." I slunk down into my chair.

He looked at me nervously.

"Can I get tater tots and a coke? That'll be it for me." I said when the server approached our table.

"Uh I'll have a burger, sprite, and a side of cheese fries." Peter said.

"Jesus, why has everyone been looking at me so weird today?!" I yelled quietly after the waiter had stared at me nervously.

"Holly." Peter said.

"What." I snapped.

"Your face, people probably think I'm the one beating you up." He chuckled.

"Shit. I forgot about that." I panicked, "how bad is it? Damn, what am I gonna tell my brothers? I gotta go check it in the restroom. Be right back." I said.

I got up and walked to the restroom and looked at my purple and brownish eye and nose.

It was a lighter hue of both of those colors, not dark. I was still upset. It made me look gross.
