Prompt: I stood outside the door in the freezing cold. My fingers were red and numb and the rain had ceased but my hair was still wet and stuck to my skin. I wanted to go home, but I knew what I had to do. 

"Here goes nothing," I murmured, under my breath, and knocked on the door.
