'I can't believe we just got a passing grade on our project.' Pleased, Clara looked at Jack. 'Neither can I. You presented really well.' Said Jack. 'Thank you. I couldn't have done it without you.' Replied Clara. Clara packed her bag and she put her backpack on her back.

'I'll just go home.' Said Clara. 'Ehm yes. Actually I wanted to ask you something else.' Stuttered Jack. 'Oh what then? Curious, Jack looked at her. 'Would you maybe like to go to the school dance with me?' Uncertainly he looked at her. Clara thought for a moment. She didn't want to go to the school dance at all but she felt sorry to say no to Jack.

'Yes, that would be nice.' She replied. "Really? Surprised, Jack looked at her. Clara nodded. 'Then shall we meet in front of the school at seven o'clock on Friday?' Asked Jack. 'Okay. Then I'll see you on Friday.' Clara smiled and she walked away. She couldn't believe that Jack had just asked her to the school dance and she couldn't believe at all that she had said yes.

Clara walked out of the school and further on she saw Scarlett's car already parked. Clara got in. 'Hey sweetheart! How was school? Scarlett asked, 'Jack and I got a pass on our project.' Said Clara happily. 'Super good! Scarlett gave Clara a high-five. 'I'm really very proud of you Claar. Super well done.'

'Thank you. You know what was really weird? Jack just asked me to the school dance.' Told Clara. 'Really, what did you say?' Asked Scarlett, 'I said yes out of pity.' Answered Clara. Scarlett chuckled. 'I think Jack is quite a nice boy though. Don't you? Scarlett had started up the car by now and they drove out of the parking lot.

'He's kind of nice.' Replied Clara. 'Yeah right. It's bound to be fun.' Said Scarlett, 'I don't know about that yet. I don't like to dance.' Said Clara. 'A school party is not only about dancing hey dear. It's also about having a good time. You can also watch from the sidelines and have a drink.

'Isn't that weird? Clara asked. 'No it isn't. Why would that be weird? Asked Scarlett shrugging her shoulders. 'I don't know. I never go to parties.' Replied Clara. 'Ah yah it'll be fine. We'll pick out a nice dress and I can do your hair if you like.' Said Scarlett, 'That would be great. Can you braid my hair?' Asked Clara. 'Of course.'

'Where are we going anyway?' Asked Clara after a while when she noticed Scarlett wasn't driving home. 'To Lizzie's.' Replied Scarlett, "Lizzie? Immediately Clara got a big smile on her face. She got along incredibly well with Elizabeth. 'Yes, Lizzie asked this morning if I felt like coming over so I thought I'd wait until you were done with school then you could come along. I'm sure Lizzie will like that too.'

After a half hour drive Scarlett and Clara arrived at Elizabeth's house. Scarlett parked the car and they got out. Cheerfully Clara walked to the front door and she pressed the bell. A few seconds later the door flew open and Elizabeth stood in the doorway.

"Lizzie! Pleased, Clara gave the woman a hug. 'Hey Claar. Hi Scar.' Elizabeth greeted the two of them smiling. Smiling, Scarlett watched the embrace between the two. 'Come in nicely.' Said Elizabeth. She released Clara and the three of them walked in.

'Yes nice.' Answered Clara and Scarlett in chorus. Elizabeth walked to the kitchen and she made some drinks for everyone. 'How was school today?' Elizabeth asked Clara. 'Pretty good.' Answered Clara. 'She got a pass on her project.' Told Scarlett proudly. 'Really, how good!' Said Elizabeth. Proudly she looked at Clara.

'And the best part is yet to come. Clara was asked to go to the school dance by a boy.' Said Scarlett, "Mom! Clara threw her a deadly look. 'Oh yes by who?' Asked Elizabeth. She wiggled her eyebrows. 'By Jack. Just a classmate.' Answered Clara.

Clara put her glass of drink on the table and she plopped down on the couch. Nice! Do you know what you're going to wear? Elizabeth asked. Clara shrugged her shoulders. We have plenty of dresses at home. I'm sure there will be something nice among them. Said Scarlett, 'Yes and otherwise I have an idea too. I can ask if Ashley and Mary-Kate have something nice for you. Their new collection is coming out soon and I know they have some dresses in there.' Said Elizabeth.

'Wow. Do you really think I can have a dress from them?' Asked Clara. 'From the new collection I don't know but there are some nice dresses in the old collection anyway. I can ask for it for you if you want.' Said Elizabeth. 'Can I do that mom? Clara looked at Scarlett, 'Of course dear.' Replied Scarlett.

'I'll send Ashley a message in a moment.' Promised Elizabeth. 'Thanks Lizzie.' Clara stood up and she gave Elizabeth a hug. 'You're welcome sweetheart. I'm curious about this Jack now. What does he look like?' Asked Elizabeth. ''I have a picture of him!' Said Scarlett.

'What?' Surprised, Clara looked at Scarlett, 'How did you get a picture of him?' Asked Clara. 'Just from the internet.' Scarlett handed her phone to Elizabeth and Elizabeth looked at the picture. 'He looks cute. Is he kind of nice too?' She asked. 'Yes, he's very nice.' Replied Clara. 'Thank goodness for that. He seems like a very sweet boy to me, too.'
