Veer's POV

"Why aren't you wearing that gold sequined sherwani of yours?" Bhaiya asked.

"Because it's not my wedding."

"Why don't you add a couple of gold chains to this one?" he suggested needlessly.

"Because I am not Bappi Lahiri," I said adjusting the cuffs of my royal blue Indo-Western sherwani.

"Then you should have worn that creame Jodhpuri suit," bhabhi suggested, resting her back against the headboard of my bed.

I grimaced. Yeah no.

Bhaiya laughed, scooting closer to bhabhi on my bed and placing his arm around her. "No, The last time he wore it to the Mysore prince's coronation, people mistook him for the crown prince."

Yeah, that was embarrassing. Fortunately, the prince was pretty cool about it. He thought it was hilarious.

Bhabhi giggled, passing bhaiya the half eaten pack of chips. "Imagine if you steal Aaryan's thunder like that today." She shot me an amused look. "l don't think Naina would be too happy about it."

From what l had heard about Aaryan from Naina, he would actually be quite glad to not have the spotlight on him tonight.

"Hmm... And l don't want to give her any more reasons to be mad at me," l said adjusting my watch.

Bhabhi raised a brow at me that l saw in the mirror. "Naina is angry with you?"

I think? "I am not sure," l admitted. "She is not outright mad at me. We are talking, laughing, going out on dates but there's something very subtle in every interaction that's bothering me. Like she is being careful around me."

"Careful?" Bhaiya asked curiously. "About what?"

"I don't know." I turned and leaned against the vanity. "She is holding herself back. Like sometimes she would be telling me about her day and would stop suddenly and steer the conversation in another direction." I pushed out a breathe. "If l was to pinpoint a problem, l would say she is being all happy and sunshiny."
