Astrid stood and watched as jet another child ran towards the solid barrier that divided platform Nine and Ten at King's Cross Station. "how barbaric" she muttered under her breath.

She felt a hand on her shoulder and slightly turned to look at her grandfather. "Astrid, It's time." He said with a voice of authority. "Ari" she corrected him. He looked at her with a scould and opened his mouth, but soon changed his mind and signed instead. "Ari, it's time to go, come on".

She rolled her eyes and looked towards the brick pole." Fine, but I still think this is a stupid idea" she muttered and started walking towards her target. Her grandfather took a deep breath and followed behind her. He knew that his usually respectful granddaughter had her reasons for acting up to this day. He was, after all, the one to move her to another country and a new school quite suddenly.

Ari imitated the students who had disappeared through the wall and started running towards the platform. Closing her eyes in the last second she half expected a collision, but soon opened them to see children and teenagers hurridly boarding a magnificent train, and adults waving and hugging their childer.

A smirk reached her mouth but she soon remembered that she already had decided to hate this school and everything associated with it. "It's magnificent, isn't it" her grandfather said proudly, once again placing a hand on her shoulder. She quickly brushed his hand off and snorted. "yeah a train, what superb magic" she said sarcastically " lucky me".

Her grandfather used all his strength to not snap at the rude girl, and instead said "I will miss you".

She stood quietly for a moment before she hurriedly turned around and hugged him. "Bye" she breathed before taking her suitcase from his hand, turned around, and started walking towards the train.

She boarded and started looking for a vacant compartment. After a few minutes, she sighed and entered a compartment, with a girl in it.

"Hi, can I sit here" she asked the girl. The girl, who had not noticed Ari's entrance, turned her head fast enough for her brown braids to hit her in the face. "Oh my god, of course! Sit!" she squealed in a high-pitched voice.

"Thanks" Ari said with an unsure voice, a little taken aback by the girl's reaction. She somehow reminded Ari of a squirrel.

Ari sat down and immediately opened the book she had carried. She had only read a few sentences when she felt the air practically vibrating around her. She lifted her eyes towards the girls sitting in front of her.

The girl was staring at her with wide eyes and a matching wide grin. Ari squinted her eyes trying to decide if she could ignore the girl without coming off as mean.

"You're really beautiful!" the girl suddenly burst out, causing Ari to raise her brows "thanks". "Which house are you in? I never saw you before" the girl continued.

"I don't know yet, I'm a transfer student" Ari answered, signing as she folded her book back together. "what house are you in?" she asked the girl.

"Hufflepuff!" The girl practically squeaked. Yep definitely a squirrel, Ari thought and chuckled.

"What's your name? And where are you from? You have a funny accent! What year are you starting?" The girls bombed Ari with questions.

"Whoa, slow down little one" Ari half-laughed as she held her hands in front of herself in a protective manner.

The girl winced and turned her gaze towards the ground. "Sorry, I talk a lot huh?" She said embarrassed. Ari could see her cheeks turning slightly red.

Ari lowered her hands and chuckled again. Not liking to see the squirrel look sad, she said "That's okay, I think it's cute! My name is Ari, what's your name?"

The girl looked up at her again and smiled shyly "I'm Katherine, but my friends call me Kat." She said "so what year are you in?" she continued.

Before Ari had a chance to answer, the door to the compartment opened and two girls walked in. "Kat! There you are, we have been looking everywhere for you!" The taller girl said. She had short, light brown hair and elegant features. "Thank goodness, I thought I would have to spend the entire ride alone, with the world's most unfriendly Hufflepuff" The other girl continued. She had blond hair, almost as light as Ari's, in a high ponytail, and soft brown eyes.

The Taller girl turned towards Ari "who's your friend" clearly asking Kat and not Ari, making her a little annoyed.

Kat smiled "This is Ari! She's transferring to Hogwarts today from..." "Durmstrang" Ari finished for her. She smiled towards the newly entered girls.

"Hi, I'm Stella" the blond girl said with a smile while reaching her hand towards Ari. Ari shook her hand, her eyes darting towards the taller girl. "Georgia" The tall girl said, lazily extending her hand.

"What year are you starting Ari?" Stella asked her. Kat turned to look at Ari with anticipating, clearly hoping for a specific answer.

"I'm beginning my fifth year" Ari answered. Kat immediately started punting earning a chuckle from Ari.

"Both me and Stella are also in our fifth year" Georgia started "And I'm all alone in the fourth year" Kat finished.

"Aw don't worry little squirrel" Georgia said as she patted the punting girl's head. Ari almost jumped at 'Squrried', wondering if she accidentally said it out loud.

"Anyway" Kat started, hitting Georgas hand away from her head " How was Durmstrang? I heard that it's super strict and scary!" Kat wondered, her eyes as big as ever.

"Not really" Ari answered, looking out the window. She had not even realized that the train had started to move.

"From what I heard about Hogwarts, Durmstrang is a bit smaller. I guess we had a lot of dueling, but nothing specifically scary" Ari said absent-mindedly.

Kat kept asking questions about Durmstrang, Ari's friends (or lack thereof), and about her family. Eventually, a woman had knocked on their door asking if they had wanted any snacks. Kat had convinced Ari to try a piece of candy called 'Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans' with an excited grin.

Ari, of course, knew the concept behind the candy but did not want to spoil her squirrel friend's mood. She tried to hide her relief as raspberry flavor filled her mouth.

"So if you live with your Grandfather, where are your parents?" Georgia asked while munching on a chocolate frog. Stella and Kat glared at Georgia with eyes that radiated concern, in case it was a sensitive question.

Stella could not keep herself from shifting her eyes towards Ari to see her expression. "My mother died giving birth to me, and my father left her while she was pregnant" she answered visibly unbothered. Her stomach did form a small knot thinking about her mother, but she held herself from expressing it.

"What an asshole" Georgia huffed. Ari raised her brows towards her. "Your father I mean". Once again Kat and Stella turned to stare at Georgia in disbelief. "Sorry" she finished in a mutter, turning her gaze towards the window.

"It's okay. It's true" Ari said, plastering on a fake smile.

After a bit more chatting, Ari finally found a moment to continue her book "Hogwarts: A History". She liked to be prepared.

After what felt like a minute, the train came to a stop and the girls exited the train alongside the other students. As the girls stood, Ari noticed the comical height difference between Georgia, who seemed to be around 6", and Kat, standing beside her being 4"11. Stella looked to be around the same height as Ari, which was 5"4.

As the girls stepped outside the train, Ari could not stop herself from visibly gasping at the sight before her

Thank you so much for giving this story a chance! What do you think about the girls? As mentioned in this chapter, Kat and Georgina are in Hufflepuff.

What house do you think Stella is in? And where will Ari be placed?
