We had just finished the shift and we was all hanging out at Molly's. Peter had left first so the seat next to me was now unoccupied

but only for a few minutes because Jay came and took the empty space

We had been talking a lot recently the past few weeks and I would like to think we got really close because we would hang out a lot

"Hey" I smiled at him

"Hey. How are you doing?"

"I'm doing Good. you?"

"Same" he looks around for Hermann and when he finally catches him before waving him over and saying his order

"Stressed out?" I ask noticing the under eye bags and his slumped over frame. He looks like he is in need of a 12 hour nap

Well technically it wouldn't be a nap if it was for 12 hours so I guess a 12 hour sleep would be more suitable thing to say

"I'm that shallow?" I shake my head taking a sip of my drink

"No, I'm just observant" his eyes Avert around the room, his face scrunching slightly in distaste at what he saw

"I don't really like crowded places that much" he mumbles

"Really? Then what's got you here?" He turns his head slightly with a small smile

"I had a gut feeling a certain someone will be here tonight" my eyes widen lightly and I dip my head, trying to hide my blushing face. He laughs at my reaction

"Is there any certain place you like to go to instead?" He thinks for a moment before nodding

"There's loads, Chicago's a big place. I will take you sometime" his voice leads no room for question and I'm happy about that

"Hey Kayla" Brett turns to me
"I'm gonna head home, are you gonna be okay?" I nod

"I'll be fine Brett. I'll see you tomorrow" she gives me a hug before putting on her coat

"Okay, bye" she walked past Jay and I kept my eyes on her and rolled them as she looked between me and Jay with a look. A 'I know something is happening between you two look'.

Once she was gone I went to take a sip of my drink but frowned when I found it empty

"Didn't expect your drink to go that quick?" Jay asked with a bit of a laugh. I playfully glared at him

"I've had my drink longer than you so I don't want to hear it. Hermann, can I have a cape cod please" he rolls his eyes with a smile at my specific drink
