Chapter 7

The next day I woke up to Jay looking down at me. I smiled slightly and wrapped my arms tighter around him, humming in content as he ran his hands through hair

"How are you feeling baby?" He muttered.

"I'm okay, tired though" I leaned up to kiss his lips

"We need to tell my unit Kayla" my eyes widened at his words, refusing to believe that's what he just said

"What?"

"We need to tell them. We can sort this out" i furrow my eyebrows

"Jay. I-I told you.. but not for you to tell anyone"

"I haven't told them yet. I'm saying we should tell them. We can help you" I shake my head and move myself out of his arms and move over

"No, no Jay you can't get involved with this"

"Why not?"

"Jay I'm not letting you get involved in this. Not when I'm trying so hard to get out"

"It's not gonna be like that, we're gonna help you"

"I can't- be helped Jay. I can't, I didn't tell you because I wanted your help. I told you because I couldn't keep this from you anymore, because I didn't want secrets"

"So what are you gonna do then baby?" his tone was angry but his name for me made me know that he wasn't really mad at me

"There's nothing I can do" I whisper
"I told Brett I was gonna leave when one of them found me, but she made me promise for me to stay. But I think I should still go"

"Go?! Baby you can't go!" I huff and move closer to him, both of us sitting up now

"I don't want to, i don't really have a choice though"

"Then don't. Baby I know you've done this on your own for so long but your not alone anymore. Let me help you. Please baby" tears leak out of the corner of my eye and he's quick to brush them away

"I don't want you to get hurt"

"I won't baby. I swear I won't" noticing the desperation in his eyes form how much he wanted me to stay made me give it

"Okay" I whisper

"Really?"

"Yes. But if you get hurt I'll kill you"

Me and Jay walk into his work and immediately a few people turn away from their conversation to look at us

I look down to the floor but Jay was quick to put my hand in his and squeeze it. I looked up with him and he smiled slightly at me before directing us to the intelligence unit

"Yo Jay!" Someone shouted shouted.

"Hi Kevin" Jay replied.

"Who's this?" Another one asked but he had a smirk on his face. The whole of the unit stopped what they were doing and look to me and jay confused

"This is Kayla, my girlfriend. Kayla this is the intelligence unit. That's Kevin, Antonio, Adam, Erin and Kim." He said pointing to each one of them

"It's nice to meet you guys"

"You too Kayla" jay didn't waste time before asking

"Is voight in his office?"

"Yeah" Kevin said

"Okay" he pulled my hand in the direction and lead me to his door without another word

We stopped in front of Voight's office and I turned to jay
