"Are you sure about your decision?" He asked, holding her elbow to prevent her from walking away.

"I am." She asked, unable to direct her gaze towards his eyes.

"I will ask you again, are you sure about marrying me?" He asked, leaning forward.

"I have always been certain about fulfilling my duties." She replied, now gazing deep into his eyes.

His heart ached by the fact that she only saw their marriage as an obligation and nothing more. Unlike him, who so longed for a lot more than that, she only viewed it as her duty. Her heart never belonged to his to begin with.

With the pain visible in his deep purple eyes, he spun her around and embraced her from the back ever so tightly. "Good. Because I'm not the kind of man who would set you free. I am selfish enough to tie you through this bond even though your heart belongs to another." He whispered.

Although he knew how miserable she felt, she remained unfazed. "After this marriage, you will have no need to worry about my heart, if you wish for it to belong only to you, so it will be."

"Then let's not prolong this evening any longer. Let's get married."
