You and Bukayo have been friends forever, you both had feelings for each other but never expressed it, and it seemed like every time you wanted to one of you was seeing someone or in a relationship.
"Sakaaaa" you said skipping into the living room where he was
"Yes" he said turning to look at you
"Guess who's got a date tonight... me" you smiled
"Really?" He said
"Yeahhhh" you replied
"Who" he asked
"Some guy I met on a night out, I don't even remember giving him my number but I did and we've been chatting for like a week and he asked me out so" you said sitting down next to him
"That's nice" he said not sounded very interested
"You don't sound excited" you whined
"Nah nah I am I'm happy for you" he said getting up and walking off
You stayed on the sofa for a while confused af, you went to look for him and found him sitting at the kitchen island on his phone.
"Okay what's the matter" you said standing opposite him
"Nothing" he said looking up at you
"Bukayo I wasn't born yesterday, I've also been your friend for long enough to tell your not okay" you sighed
"Nah it's nothing" he said standing up
You raised your eyebrows and he sighed
"Fine" he said "I just, nah"
"Saka" you said
"Fuck sake I was gonna tell you something today and actually I've been trying to tell you something for ages but every time I try something comes between it" he said
Your face looked confused then it clicked
"Oh" you said
"Yeah exactly" he said going to walk out the kitchen
"What if I said I've been trying to do the same thing but every time I wanted to the same thing happened" you said
He turned to look at you
"What do you mean" he said
You sighed "I know what your talking about, and I've been trying to do the same thing"
"Oh" he said walking a bit closer
"Mhm" you said
"I wish I knew you was trying to tell me" he said
"I wish I knew you was too!" You said
"What about your date" he said
"Well how about I cancel it" you said and he smiled
"Here's my vow, starting from here and now. Nothing comes between us" you said
He walked closer and opened his arms to hug you, you gladly expected.
"We won't lose this thing we found" he said hugging you tighter
You pulled away and looked at him smiling, he smiled back and leaned in for a kiss
It felt like a miracle this was finally happening.
He pulled away, "nothing comes between us" he said shaking his head
You smiled and nodded.
