Everyone in town thought we were so fortunate. Many people admired us for being beautiful, handsome, and kind because the Spencers owned half of the properties in town. That is, nearly half of the people in town worked for us.

Being born into a wealthy family is both a blessing and a curse for me.

There is a certain standard you must meet.
Failure is not tolerated, and you must make everyone proud wherever you go, even if it means abandoning the things that make you happy.

Everything was laid out in front of you; you could buy whatever you wanted and go wherever you wanted, but you couldn't break the rules, no matter how badly you wanted to.

It's a pain. I'm sick and tired of having everyone around me tell me what I have to do.

My cousins and I lived in opulence, but we felt like puppets to our parents, constantly trying to please them.

I take a look around our sprawling home.
My gaze was drawn to a photograph of our family, which included Lolo Austin, Lola Rebekah, Uncle Edward, Auntie Izabel, Uncle Arthur, Auntie Amelia, and my Dad Philip, with my Mommy Nathalia.

My cousins were next in line, with Louise, the eldest, followed by Primo, her younger brother. They are Uncle Edward and Auntie Izabel's children.

The names of Uncle Arthur and Auntie Amelia's children are Charlotte, Arabella, and Ernest.

Then there was Beatrice, which is me and Adrian, my younger brother.

I'm actually one of the younger ones.
But that won't stop me from wanting my
eldest cousin, Louise, the coldest woman I've ever seen.
