Adora's POV I sat in the front of the cruiser while Aegeus sat in the back. The drive wasn't too long, and it wasn't as taxing on me and Aegeus as I was concerned about. It was probably only 45 minutes before Charlie stopped and said "We're here."
I opened the door and sat there until Charlie let Aegeus out and he immediately went to my side. Charlie grabbed both my bags and we walked to the house. Aegeus alerted me about the stairs leading up to the house, then to the second floor, then to the attic where I would be staying. This was going to be taxing.

It was big, and a lot of work had clearly been put into it considering the fact that he was rambling about a bathroom and kitchen area so I wouldn't have to go downstairs too often. Then he started talking about colors causing me to be confused. I was touched that he set up a little bed area for Aegeus.

He then left us to unpack which Aegeus and I did together to help me get a feel for the layout. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had a walk in closet.

I could easily store my luggage bags in here with Aegeus's vests and muzzles as well as a few clothes. After we finished unpacking we did just that and I sent Aegeus to bed while I sat on my bed reading a copy of the braille version of Alice in Wonderland.

We sat like this for a little while before I heard the loud and obnoxious backfire of a truck that sent Aegeus leaping onto the bed and using his body as a shield to protect me from the 'gunfire'. I immediately began to reassure the panicked dog by covering his ears and placing kisses along his snout.
Just as he began to relax Charlie called up "Adora! Bella's home!" We both reluctantly walked out of the room after grabbing my phone and slipping it into my back pocket and grabbing my walking stick in my right hand and my left latched onto Aegeus's collar. We began the slow descent downstairs until we reached the bottom into the walkway for the kitchen and living room.
