"Hey!" Pearl looked back. The twins had knocked over some postcards from the shelf.

"You two!" The man grabbed the twins by their arm. Pearl knows him, her father had warned him about mistreating kids. Last time he threw a kid into the street. The kid almost got ran over. Thankfully, Jace was there to save him. And since then her father had spoken to this man.

"I suggest you let my kids go," Zach said. He went and took his daughters. "Don't ever put your hands on them."

"Tell your snotty kids to stop running around the store!" The man yelled.

"Didn't the Alpha give you a warning, from last little accident," Jace said. The man got scared and went back to doing his thing.

"He's always like that," Pearl said. "Angry all the time. My father gave him a warning."

"I see," Zach drag the twins out. "You two, didn't I tell you not to run around?"

"We sorry," they pouted.

"Go to your mother now," they scramble away giggling.

"You don't spank them?" Pearl asked.

"No," Zach said. "It doesn't do anything. They cry, but then they go off giggling. They like taunting me."

"I see," she smiled. "Oh, Jace."

"What?" He sounded a bit annoyed.

"Nothing," she said. Zach gave him this look. But couldn't tell what it meant. She looked down. Jace has been moody all day. She can't wait until they get home. She'll need to speak to him.

When the time came to go home, Jace left. Did he go to his cabin without saying why? Pearl sighed and sat on the couch.

"He's not very social is he?" Eleanor asked.

"No," Pearl said. "Well yes he is, but I don't know what's wrong with him today."

"Oh," Eleanor sat next to her. "Has he told you of where he comes from?"

"No," Pearl said. "He doesn't tell me anything."

"I see," she looked down.

"I know I asked before, but do you know him?" She asked she looked at her. She wanted to tell her something, but she didn't. For Zach walked in. They knew something. And Pearl intends to get it out of them.

"The girls asleep finally," Zach sat down next to her and pulled her close. Eleanor's eyes showed a lot of love for him, and the way he looked at her, it's romantic.

"How was the town?" Her father walked in. "I hope everything went well."

"Yes," Zach said. "It was wonderful. My family enjoyed themself. Especially my two little troublemakers."

"That's good if you don't mind," her father said. "We should discuss some important matter." Zach kissed his wife and stood up. "Where's Jace?"

"I think he went to get his things," Pearl said. At least she hopes that is what he is doing. Because she can't think of anything else, of what he could be doing.

"Alright," Zach followed her father.

Once again Eleanor and she were alone. It could be her chance to ask her about what she knows. But Jace came in. He had his backpack. When he saw Eleanor, he just looked away. Eleanor again had those sad eyes. Jace walked away and upstairs.

"Excuse me," Pearl stood up. And follow him up. He went straight into her room. The moment she went in he closed the door and pulled her to him. "Jace, what's is wrong with you?"
