CHAPTER 4

It's your senior year in high school. Apart from dating Rindou, you spend the rest of your time focusing on your studies

There is absolutely 0 chance the Hanemiya's are gonna sponsor you to go to college. But you weren't gonna give up on your future. So all you have to do is to study hard to get yourself into a University. 

Kazutora will often secretly buy you energy boosters, chicken essence and honey.

"Senior year is very stressful, you have to replenish yourself." that's what he said.

You were busy solving a mathematical problem when Kazutora entered your room. He stared at you as if he has something to say.

You looked up at him and asked if there is anything else?

"Y/n, let's go to an art gallery this weekend"

You wanted to say yes, but on second thought what if Rindou had plans already?

"I'm not sure if Rindou has any plans for us"

The moment Rindou's name was mentioned, Kazutora's expression shifted, his gaze full of anger as he fliped out "Rindou, Rindou, It's always Rindou. Don't tell me you've fell for him !"

Kazutora's question made your heart skip a beat as if a secrete just got ripped open. You tried your best to keep your cool "How will ever fall for that iceberg?"

The way you said it was uncertain, you could feel your palm covered in cold sweat, your entire body reacting abnormally

Kazutora noticed all of it

"Hanemiya Y/n, you are fucking lying!"

"No, I'm not, you're just overthinking. After we graduate from high school we will go our separate ways" 

Kazutora opened his mouth trying to say something before the both of you got interrupted. Kazutora's father barged into your room with his belt in his hand, clearly drunk. He charged towards you and start whiping you out of the blue 

"DAD! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!" Kazutora tried to stop him but he was no match for his father.

"YOU PIECE OF TRASH! YOUR FATHER IS A FUCKING MORON! I AGREED TO ADOPT YOU BECAUSE YOUR DAD..." he suddenly paused, his hand holding his belt up high in the air, Kazutora wrapped his hands around his father's  waist to stop him from getting to you

"My dad what?" your eyes furrowed, ignoring the stinging pain on your body

Before he could finish his sentence, he passed out. Goosebumps covered your body, but neither you nor Kazutora dare to wake him up. 

Kazutora supported his dad out of your room, just as the door slammed shut, your legs gave up on you, you collapsed to the ground, covering your mouth to muffle your voice as tears run down your cheeks uncontrollably

Memories of you and your biological parents appeared in your head, you still remember how blissful you felt when you have them by your side. 

The black screen on your phone lit up, it was a message from Rindou

"Goodnight"

A simple message, it made the sides of your lips tug up as you let out a gentle smile, your mood instantly got better.

Turns out, you rely on Rindou more than you though...
