I'm starting to realize why I was so trusting in a guy I had only just met, why I allowed him to wrap his arm around my chubby self and fell asleep: He is just that kind of guy. My friends haven't noticed it yet, they all think he is some guy that simply wants to get me into bed and then ditch me afterwards, leaving me broken inside. But, the thing that they didn't realize was that I am the only person who could turn a person inside out and read them like a book. I can tell who a person is by simply having a conversation for about ten minutes. But with Chance, I didn't even need five, he won me over in a matter of a couple seconds and I was able to trust the guy with my life. I understand that sleeping on his shoulder is nowhere close to having to trust him with my life, but it felt like I could've and I do.

"Khloe, you aren't seriously telling me that you are talking to that guy, are you?" Brynn asked as she threw her arm around me from behind, freaking me out because I had absolutely no idea how she had gotten behind me. It seemed like almost everything had freaked me out these days, especially the fact that she was shaking for some unknown reason. "He is kind of a jerk."

I looked up at her and she had been gazing off at him playing on the basketball courts, her gaze seemed aimed towards sadness. I couldn't tell whether or not I should ask her more about the subject, she had seemed a bit scarred by whatever happened between the two of them, although, she is my bestfriend so I should be allowed to ask questions such as, "What happened between you and Chance?"

Brynn walked over in front of me, leaving my back to find warmth for itself, her absence left me shivering until an arm was wrapped around me, leaving me freaked out once again because I had absolutely no idea who it was this time. Their voice stretched out and I could tell that it was none other than the one and only ...

"Brayden." Brynn announced, for she could tell that I was tensing up a bit, but also to prove that he had chosen the wrong moment to pop up into our conversation. I motioned for her to just tell me after school with the smallest gesture of me moving my right eye slightly; this she understood and motioned for Ainsley to come and join us.

Ainsley, our bubbly best friend, skipped over with an ice cream in hand. She had a smile stretched from one side of her face to the other, leaving a spell on everyone around her: leaving them happy for the rest of the day.

I looked up to see Brayden, one of my bestfriends since I was but a little 5 year old and my huge crush, he was smiling out at Ainsley who was winking at me. He looked down at me and my heart stopped and when he said, "I thought you looked a little cold there, maybe you'd like my jacket instead?" he started pulling away from me but instead I grabbed his arm and held it so that he could not take his arm from around me.

"You're fine just like this." I smiled as I looked up at him again, then he sat down right next to me, letting my whole right side heat up like a furnace, but I didn't mind, it felt nice.

He was sitting so close that his words felt like they were part of me, like his every word was absorbed into my skin, making me lose my mind. His every heart beat was a drum pounding in my side, thump thump thump.

"Khloe?" Brayden began, he grabbed my other hand and looked at me with big eyes.

I'm not quite sure what had happened but everyone was staring at me now. Could I have said my thoughts aloud? Could I have missed something said or asked?

I looked around and everyone starts laughing at me, as if I had fallen asleep and someone placed a big sign above my head screaming, BIG LOSER RIGHT HERE! I don't know how to express the awkwardness.

"What? What happened?" I asked as I pulled away a little from Brayden, the cold air rushing into the gap between the both of us. At once, I had wanted the gap to be nonexistent, I wished I hadn't pulled away.
