My bow was immediately in my hands and pointed at Loki, an arrow ready to shoot through his chest. There was an exclamation of noise as people stood up and defended Loki. The god simply rolled his eyes at me and continued reading his book, while my dad gently grabbed my bow and pulled it from my hands.

"What are you doing?" I asked. "That's Loki."

"Yeah, we know," Tony said, shoving some blueberries in his mouth. "Pretty obvious."

I narrowed my eyes at him.

"What's he doing here?" I questioned.

"We've got a deal with him," my dad said. "He's down here to help us and stuff to make up for his crimes."

"I don't trust him," I said, narrowing my eyes.

The god scoffed.

"It is nice to meet you, too," he said, before standing up and leaving the room.

My hands curled at my sides, itching to wrap around his throat. It wasn't fair that he got to come down here as 'punishment' instead of being locked up. I didn't care if I sounded like a child - he was a criminal, and he was living in a luxury tower.

"You'll trust him eventually," Tony said, offering a blueberry to the teenager sitting next to him. I wondered if it was his son. "I mean, I did."

"Took you eleven months," Natasha said with a grin.

Tony rolled his eyes at her. The boy next to him was staring at me, so I smiled at him.

"Oh yeah, this is Peter," Tony said. "He's my intern."

I cocked my head.

"You intern is... eating blueberries with you and the team," I stated.

Tony nodded and shoved more blueberries in his mouth. I just shrugged, deciding to ignore it for now. Tony was known to be kind of weird like that.

"Right, your room," my dad said. "Come with me."

I waved goodbye to everyone and followed my dad into the elevator. Natasha and Wanda followed, and we chatted on the way to my room. When we reached my room, however, all the words died in my throat.

My room was massive. I'd had a big room at the farm, but this made it look small. There was a bed against the left wall, and a wall of windows along the right. There were two doors on the left wall that led to a bathroom and a closet, and there were built-in bookcases.

"We can go shopping for clothes and decorations tomorrow," my dad said.

I grinned widely. I was liking being an Avenger a lot right now.

"Now for the rest of the tour," Wanda said.

I was shown the training rooms, the library, the labs, and the party deck. I was also shown my dad and Nat's floor, and Wanda and Vision's floor. I'd met Vision a few times, seeing as Wanda had brought him to the farm sometimes.

Once the tour was finished, I was given a Shield suit to change into. I then was led to the training rooms, and stood before an obstacle course.

"Alrighty," Tony's voice said through speakers, "you just gotta get through the obstacle course. Try not to die."

I took a deep breath. They wouldn't let me die. I hoped.

The floors began to move like one big treadmill. I began walking, and then broke into a brisk jog. Parts of the wall came out, and I slid over and under them. The pace picked up, and I continued running. Out of nowhere, a fist came for my face. I barely dodged, and faced Natasha. She grinned and went for my legs, and we engaged in combat. Eventually I had her on the floor, but I knew she'd gone easy on me. I continued running, up some stairs, then down some. I had to leap across a seven-foot gap at one point. I'd nearly lost my footing, but had been able to keep running.

After about twenty minutes the obstacle course began to slow, and I slowed down to a walk, and then a stop. A few of the Avengers came out to congratulate me, patting me on the back for my good job.

"And you're not enhanced at all?" Peter asked me.

I shook my head. I'd just been training for this half my life. No biggie.

"Welp, I'm gonna go and finish working on some stuff," Tony said. "Wanna help, Pete?"

The teenager nodded excitedly, and the two left the room, talking science. Wanda and Vision left to start on dinner, and I went upstairs to have a shower. I'd packed a towel and clothes in my bag, so I was able to dry myself off and get dressed into something more comfortable. As soon as I opened my door to walk back to the dining room, the door across from mine opened, and Loki stepped out. He opened his mouth to speak, but I shut my door in his face, and sat on my bed.

Of course I had to be floor-mates with Loki. Why did he even have to be here? Couldn't he go back to Asgard and pay for his crimes there?

I sighed and shook my head. I shouldn't dwell on it. There was no need to do that to myself.
