EPILOGUE

Jennie's POV

It's been a year since we buried her, and I can't still sink it in my mind that she's gone already. Her mother decided to bury her here. Auntie called me to go to their house. Every day realizing that she's gone already is so hard, I feel so empty, waking up with tears, and having breakfast with memories that we can't do again. I wiped my tears when I reach their house, I park my car and go outside. I saw Auntie waving at me while opening the gate.

"How are you?" She asks and I smile bitterly

"Still not okay," I say and she smiles

"We both feel the same way," she says and I can see the pain thru her eyes, imagine you only have your daughter but now you're alone.

"Come here, I baked," she says and I go inside. When you go inside you can hear Lisa's voice, but now you only hear the quietness of this place. I go inside the kitchen.

"Take a bite," Auntie says and I grab one cookie

"You're so good at baking," I say and I eat another one

"Thanks to you," she says and I chuckle

While eating we got the mom and daughter bond today. I promise Lisa that I will take care of her mom.

"Lisa told me to take care of you," she says and I widened my eyes

"She told me that too, I should take care of you," I say and we both chuckles

"That kid" Auntie shakes her head

"She told me to take care of you like a real daughter to me, she also says that I should take care of you and Louis. Lisa will get angry if I didn't" she says and I nodded

"Louis is doing great. Mom taking caring of him, you can visit him every time, he misses you" I say and she looks at my ring

"The ring suit's on you," she says

"It's pretty, I won't take it off," I say and she nodded

"Yeah don't take it off because it's yours," she says and I widened my eyes

"It's mine?" I ask and she nodded. I thought she'll ask for it

"My daughter gives it to you, and I won't let her give that ring to the girl that is not you," she says and I feel my face get red

"It's her 1st anniversary," she says

"Jen, I will let you take care of Lisa now," she says and I furrowed my eyebrows

"What do you mean?" I ask and she smiles

"I'll just go home to my country, I'll go back to Thailand and live there," she says and I get sad

"I will still visit you, we can video call," she says and I pouted

"You really need to go home?" I ask and she nodded

"I don't want myself to suffer here," she says

"I want to give something to you," she says and she pulled me upstairs. We go in front of Lisa's room and she started opening it. This room is full of memories, I look around and I can't help to cry while remembering all the memories that we made. I go to the small cabinet beside her bed and I saw the frame, it has our pictures.

"You can take it," she says and I smile. I get all the pictures of us

"Here, she told me to give this monkey if you come back," she says while removing the plastic on the pink monkey that she get for me. I remember her hard work just to get that monkey. I put the monkey on Lisa's bed.
