Hunter’s POV

I stare up at the ceiling, unable to sleep. Sporting a slight hard on. Damn I need to get some, it has been way too long. As I'm laying here calming him down I hear something. I get out of bed to investigate. It's roughly 4am, no one is ever up at this hour. Not unless they are still up from the night before but that's not the case here. I get up and pull my sweatpants over my boxers. I walk out to the living room and see no one but the kitchen light is on. When I turn the corner the dark curly haired girl is probably the last person I had expected to see.

"Reign?"

"Sorry did I wake you?" She looks up at me in surprise.

She's sitting at the island, eating a bowl of cereal.

"I was already awake. What are you doing up at this hour?" I asked.

She was chewing, so I waited. Looking at her soft, pretty features I wonder to myself why it took so long for me to notice her. She's always so quiet. But the other day while we were all stuck inside from the storm, James and I were playing video games, she spoke up. We were shocked she played but then she blew our minds when she started talking about secret safehouses and cheat codes. We offered for her to play with us and she swept the floor with our asses.

"I am leaving. My ride should be here soon."

"Ride? Where are you going?"

"I got a taxi to take me home. It's a few hours drive and I wanted to get home in time for church. Sunday before Christmas is always a special service."

The thought of her in a car with a stranger for hours had me on edge. I shake my head.

"You're coming back right?"

She looked at me, a little confused.

"Yeah, after the holiday."

I nod.

"Then there is no reason for a taxi. You can take James' rental."

"Won't James be mad?" She looks at me surprised.

"Nah, I'll take care of him. It's cheaper and smarter this way, he will agree."

She nods in agreement. "Ok, thanks."

She got up and put her bowl in the sink. I watch as she gets on her phone and cancels her car. I grab James' car keys and give them to her.

"May I?"

I reach out for her phone. She hands it to me and I put my number in her contacts.

"If you have any trouble, just call."

"Thanks."

I see a hint of a blush on her cheeks and I can’t help but smile.

"Well, I'm going to get going, thanks again!"

"Need help with your bags?" I ask.

"Nope."

She shrugs a back pack over her shoulder and heads for the door. That's all she's taking? Impressive. I wave as she leaves and I head back to my room. I lay back down and try to go back to sleep. After some time, I finally fall asleep with visions of a quiet brown haired girl.

------------

I wake up to my cell going off. I grab it off the side table and see I have a text.

Just got home safe and sound, thanks again for letting me take the car. -R

I look at the time and see it took her just over two hours to get home.
