Demon Slayer: Mikazuki Saito and Sanemi Shinazugawa

Mikazuki Saito is an assistant of Kagaya Ubuyashiki, other than his wife. Mikazuki helps with preparations and helps Amane with everything she needs. Mikazuki was saved by Gyomei from a demon and brought her to Oyakata-sama, in which he gave her a home and a purpose. She was not as loud and not as quiet. She was properly-disciplined, and graceful as it was taught by her family before she was sold to someone else. She had light brown hair, it was short and wavy, and her green eyes were mesmerizing, it seemed like an emerald stone.

Sanemi is an aggressive man, since he joined the demon slayer corps. He had been in multiple fights which is clearly seen in his so many scars. He has challenged so many people, including Kyojuro Rengoku and Tanjiro Kamado. But both attempts have failed, because both Tanjiro and Kyojuro had withstand his attacks. Sanemi, although off the beaten track, he was a lovely man deep inside. If only he had shown it. Over the years, he has developed feelings for the certain girl, Mikazuki. She was 19 and he was 21. As the pillar meeting was held, regarding with Tanjiro and his sister, Nezuko, Mikazuki was called out to assist Oyakata-sama. "Ohayōgozaimasu Oyakata-sama. Ohayo, hashiras", she bows down to Kagaya and bows down to the hashiras. Sanemi locks eyes with Mikazuki, but her faint smile and relaxed face remained without flinching. She gives a letter to Kagaya's daughters regarding Urokodaki's promises of disemboweling themselves if Nezuko-chan eats people. It was the honorable death to be responsible for such a promise. As she hands the letter out, she smiles faintly to Sanemi which gave him butterflies in his stomach. He was so angry at the feeling. But he felt at ease. She stands aside in the corner, she noticed that Tanjiro was pinned down by Sanemi and had a hard time breathing properly. "Sanemi-san, it might be more proper if you were a little gentle with Kamado-san", Mikazuki puts a hand on his shoulder which caught him off guard and therefore, he became angry for Mikazuki's concerns for Tanjiro. He shrugs off her hand and she gasped, hurt by his gesture, but remained as elegant and soft as she always was. As the letter was read, Sanemi still didn't believe that Nezuko was a good demon. He provoked the young demon girl by constantly slashing her with his sword while she was in the box. Tanjiro was now pinned down by Obanai in his back and harder. Shinobi had warned Tanjiro that using breathe techniques might cause further damage to his already painful body. Mikazuki remained quiet as she stood unable to react since the hashiras were her superiors. After Nezuko had proven herself, Tanjiro and Nezuko was put in Shinobu's care. Shinobu had told Mikazuki to lead the scouts to her house, to Aoi. When they arrived, Tanjiro has been taken good care by Mikazuki, it was the least she could do after being a bystander. "I'm sorry about Sanemi and Obanai", she said as she fixes Tanjiro's bed to let him have his rest. Zenitsu was asleep and Inosuke was in a depressive state. Tanjiro smiles gently at her, "It's okay, I'm fine. You don't have to apologize", he said to her. Tanjiro was a good person, despite losing his family and his only surviving sister turned into a demon. She smiled at him and went on her way as her presence were called by Oyakata-sama himself. She passed by Sanemi, but because of the way he acted – she was deeply hurt by it – she ignored him and walked past him, not caring. Sanemi was hurt by this sudden display. She was good to him, even if he was mean to her. Sanemi had been contemplating about Mikazuki's behavior. One afternoon, he had seen Tanjiro talking to Mikazuki and he became envious of Tanjiro and he was jealous that he gets to talk to her and he doesn't. He saw her laugh and he was curious as to why she was laughing. What was so laughable about a kid? He thought to himself, his ears were fuming in madness. He wanted to punch the poor guy. It was the first time he had seen Mikazuki laugh like she was about to cry laughing. He ignored them and went on his destination. For the following days, they've ignored each other, not talking and not even looking. She remained elegant and helpful, he remained annoyed and aggressive. But because he was so angry at Mikazuki, he couldn't take it anymore. He walked around not knowing where to go and thought about crazy things. She saw that he was breathing heavily and was out of his mind. But she passed by him, not giving a care. She needed to taught him a lesson. Sanemi, who was now angry at the world, grabbed her by the arm and looked at her with those fuming anger in his eyes. "Why are you ignoring me?", he had asked, clueless of what he did. Was it about Tanjiro? "Sanemi-san, I don't have time allotted for you, please let me go", she said in her normal, slow and low tone. He was too angry, so he squeezed her arm some more. "Sanemi-san, let me go now", she said and looked at him in the eyes. He gasped as he saw that she was getting angry, but remained as she always was. He lets go of her arm. Sanemi looks down in embarrassment, he said sorry for the first time. He felt sick by his own actions. Mikazuki upon seeing Sanemi looking down almost crying, she gasped softly. She took his hand and he looked at her, his tears forming under his eyes. "Sanemi-san, thank you for apologizing, but you should really learn some manners. I'm not the only person you hurt", she said as she gave him a smile so sweet and calming, but her words were a little harsh. Mikazuki hugs him with the biggest hug Sanemi has ever gotten from her. He remembered his mother and he loved it too much that he wished she would never let him go. After the hug, Mikazuki went on her way and Sanemi was left speechless. But it made him realize things. He just hoped he could take it to heart and do it, but he was adamant, and he couldn't seem to let anyone change his mind. Days have passed and well, Sanemi remained as he was, but he was trying to please Mikazuki. She didn't want to be pleased, but it was good seeing Sanemi to try and outgrow his negative demeanor. When Mikazuki was alone working, Sanemi stole this as a chance to ask her out. "Will you go with me out for a walk?", Sanemi asked, nervous and anxious of what she would say. She smiled at the white-haired boy and said yes to him. After she was done with her work, she prepared herself for the supposed 'walk' Sanemi invited her to. She smiled looking in the mirror as she was pleased of how she looked. As Sanemi knocked on her door, she felt excitement run down her every bone and she opened the door happily. The man who was standing in front of her, looked as if he saw a shining gem. She looked amazing and she smells even more so, Sanemi had thought. He felt happiness for the first time in a long time. He took Mikazuki's hand and off they went on their walk through a secluded place. Sanemi wanted to show her something. Trees covered the sky and little to no light had gone through. They walked and walked and she saw an opening, with a blanket on the ground and picnic basket, good enough for two people. "I thought this was a walk", she asked confused. She had thought that they will just be walking somewhere together. "We did have our walk", Sanemi said in a rather sarcastic tone that sent Mikazuki looking at him conspicuous in annoyance. "I'm sorry, I don't know how to ask you for a date", he said rubbing his neck and smile at her, eyes closed and sweating. "It's alright, I love picnics anyway", she smiled so little and sat at the blanket that was on the ground of the most beautiful clearing she has ever seen. The sun shone through so widely, but it was not hot, but warm. The good kind of weather. This was the first time Sanemi was smiling and laughing, but he never dared show his comrades this new version of him. It was only reserve for Mikazuki herself. Though he started to act more calm than usual. The fight with Muzan happened and Sanemi had lost his brother. Before even fighting Kokoushibo, Sanemi had thought that Mikazuki died with Oyakata-sama when the explosion happened, but she was not in the house. She was with Oyakata-sama's other children and with Tengen and Kyojuro's father, Shinjuro. She was there as an assistant to the new Oyakata-sama, Kagaya's son, Kiriya Ubuyashiki. Sanemi was so relieved to know she was safe, but his relief would soon turn into grief as he lost his little brother, whom he started to get along with just a few days ago when Mikazuki forced him to not abandon his only living brother. Genya and Sanemi exchanged last words and Sanemi was heartbroken, but the fight is not over yet. When they've managed to kill Muzan, Sanemi was ready to go with his family, but his dead father had stopped him. He wanted to go, but he also thought of Mikazuki. He was comatose for about a week or so, and when he opened his eyes, he saw the love of his life smiling at him. He thought he was in heaven, but even though where he was, he was happy she was there. The demon slayer corps was disbanded due to the fact that Muzan and the demons are now gone and they are free from them. Only Giyuu and Sanemi are the remaining hashiras alive. They were thanked by Kiriya-sama for their swordsmanship and their bravery as well as the bravery of those who have fallen. Sanemi would eventually marry Mikazuki at the age of 22. They had three children, the eldest son was named after Sanemi's brother, Genya. The second daughter's name is Kazuki and the third son's name is Nanami. When Sanemi turned 24, he talked to his children and discuss with them their future, for Sanemi, because of using/ awakening the mark, will not reach the age of 25 and above. His children were saddened by this, even Mikazuki was. She wanted to spend eternity with him. Sanemi wished for a few things, he wanted his children to always take of their mother and themselves, protect each other and always love one another. With each day nearing to his 25th birthday, he became weaker and weaker. He passed away from his sleep, but before passing away, he talked to Mikazuki. "You have been my joy, my anchor and my heart. I love you, Mikazuki. Arigato for being my friend, my companion and my wife. We shall meet again someday", he closed his eyes. "You are my everything, Sanemi. I'll love you for eternity", she hugged him and felt his last breath. His children cried in their mother's side as they saw their father breathe his last breath. They held a funeral to which Tanjiro, Tengen-sama, Zenitsu, Inosuke and the others attended and paid their respects. Even though Sanemi was now gone, his promise was kept by his children and they grew up teaching their children that siblings should always love each other and that family should always be together. When Mikazuki died, she woke up in the clearing where she and Sanemi had their first date. She was young as she was before and even wore the same dress and kimono. She was met by a boy with white hair who smiled at her as he took her hands and made her stand up. "I told you we'd meet again", Sanemi said greeting his wife. Mikazuki bursts out in tears, crying so hard as she embraced her husband and hugged him tightly, never letting go of him. Sanemi was shocked and he gasped slowly. She hugged her back and grinned in happiness. They both hugged each other so tightly, it seemed it was getting hard to breathe, but she did not mind as well as he. As a gush of wind passed them, the trees danced as both their hairs danced together. They laid down the grass looking at the bright blue sky, hand intertwined together. Their smiles left the world and now they're together.
