Apples & Oranges

Apples and oranges

Oranges and apples

I have always been told that I am an apple

But you an orange

When will our paths cross? When will our fate be intertwined?

I pray soon

For I crave not an apple

But an orange

Like yourself

I no longer desire those like myself

The mellowness of just an apple

Just an apple

It bores me

I have come to feel that of myself

But the boldness of an orange

The tanginess

The citrusy love

I crave it

But I am afraid you will never look outside those like yourself

That you will never notice me

Just an apple
