I'm back and I have brought another chapter with me! Happy friday! I hope you are all doing well and stuff... yeah. Okay!

I ran down the hallway, cursing myself. I had panicked a little when L had walked in and left the room as fast as I could, making a fool of myself in the process. As I ran down the hall, I bumped into someone, sending me falling backwards.

Before I could hit the ground, a hand grabbed mine, holding me up. I gasped and looked up to the person. It was Light.

"Glad I caught you," he smiled at me.

"Um, yeah," I said with a fake smile. "Glad you caught me too. The wood floor is hard." Light laughed and lent me his other hand, pulling me upright.

"Did you eat breakfast?"

"I-um-I'm not hungry," I shrugged.

"Oh, well," Light turned. "I guess I'll see you later."

"Yeah," I nodded, turning and walking till I was sure he had left. After that, I ran in a loop till I found the stairs and hurried up to my floor.

L's POV

I left the table and looked around the hallway. I was just about to head to the elevator when I spotted Light.

"What are you doing, Ryuzaki?" Light asked as he spotted me looking around.

"Looking for Masa," I replied. "You haven't seen her, have you?"

"Um, no," Light shook his head. "I haven't seen her. But, since when have you called her Masa?"

"Hm?" I asked, realizing my error. "Oh, I don't know. Slip of the tongue, I suppose. If you do see her, tell her I need to speak with her."

I walked away from him without another word, heading for the elevator.

Masa's POV

I was halfway up the stairs to my floor when I realized that this was the first place he would go to look for me. If he was looking for me, that is. Just in case, I changed my route and headed higher up the building. Once there were three floors between my floor and the floor I was on, I slowed down and relaxed a little.

My mind was getting the best of me as I climbed higher. It kept going back to the fact that L didn't love me. That it was all a one night stand and that we had no future.

I stopped when I realized that I couldn't go any higher. The roof. I opened the door and headed out onto the top. At first, the light was blinding. I walked to the edge of the roof and looked down onto the city. The view was strangely calming.

"It kills me not to know this, but I've all but just forgotten," I sang to myself. "What the color of her eyes were, and her scars or how she got them." Silent tears ran down my face.

That was where I stayed till late afternoon.

It was hours later, almost seven o'clock when I came back inside. I went into the bathroom and washed the tear streaks off of my face before heading down to the kitchen. Dinner was already made and I could smell it from the elevator. I hadn't eaten anything today, and I was starving.

I came into the dining room to see the whole task force already there. My eye caught L's for a second before I looked away and fixed myself a p myself a plate of food. I sat down in an open seat on the opposite side of the table.

The dinner was mostly silent, save for Misa who was whining and squealing to Light. I finished quickly and went to set my plate in the sink. When I turned, I was met by a pair of deep, dark eyes.

L looked at me, his gaze saying "I need to talk to you" very clearly. I looked away and headed for the exit, leaving the room. I was halfway down the hallway when he came up behind me. I broke into a little run but he was faster than me, catching me and pushing me up to the wall.

"What?" he asked. "What did I do? I'm sorry if I did something but you need to tell me what it was."

"I-It's not that," I struggled. "I just...." I sighed and he released his grip on me. My voice broke as I spoke. "I didn't want to be a one night stand. I know it didn't mean anything to you, but it meant something to me and I just, I don't want to have to deal with this."

"Masa," L gave a saddened chuckle. His fingers gripped the bottom of my chin and lifted my face, looking into my gray-blue eyes. "You've got it all wrong. It meant something to me too. It wasn't just a one night stand. I mean, it can be if that's what you want, but it wasn't to me."

"Y-you mean you feel the same?" I asked. He looked at me for a second, then kissed me. The kiss held so much passion that I could have melted. I kissed him back and his tongue slipped into my mouth. I moaned slightly.

We pulled apart after a few minutes, our foreheads resting on each other.

"Does that answer your question?" L asked. I gave a small chuckled.

"Yeah."

"I love you, Masa," he whispered.

"I love you too."

We stood there a few more seconds, embracing each other.

"So, does this mean we're dating?" I asked.

"I suppose so," he gave me a small smile. I smiled back at him before kissing him goodnight and heading up to my room.
