A young boy, the age of five walked out of the rickety shop at the top of the hill. "Mama? Papa? Where did you go?"

"Stop"

The blood seeped into the grass in front of the blacksmith shop. Two men stood with sinister grins as they watched a young boy crumble to his knees. "No! No! No! This can't be! They can't be gone! Mom! Dad! Please! NO!"

"STOP IT, STOP IT, STOP IT! PLEASE!"

Buildings crumbled around him as the acid seeped through the walls one by one. The young boy continued running around, getting as many people out of the fallen buildings as he could. Then he spotted a middle house, it was destroyed. Smoking as acid reached the oven and it exploded, causing a fire. Then he saw the girl. On her side. Not moving an inch. He ran through the fire to the girl. Tears swelling in his eyes. "Skylar! Are you ok?! Answer me!" He pleaded as he reached her. He then turned her to face him. A gasp escaped his lips. She was burnt to a crisp. He checked her pulse, only to find it wasn't there. "Babe..." He whispered. "NO! SKYLAR, PLEASE YOU CANT LEAVE ME! YOU JUST CAN'T! DON'T LEAVE ME LIKE THIS PLEASE!"

"NO MORE, PLEASE NO MORE"

I opened my eyes trying to feel what I was laying on. I didn't feel anything, I felt as if I was floating. I looked around, noticing I was not in the monastery, but a dark abis that had no end. "Finally, you're awake. I've been trying to get through to you for some time now, Kai smith." A voice rang through the abis, the echo sounding menacing yet oddly welcoming. I recognized the voice, but I can't remember who it was. "Who are you? Where are we?" I questioned, my voice echoing through the darkness as well? "I am known as many things, but my name is not important. As to where we are. We are in your head, however, that is not my doing but your own." The echo replied. "Where are you? Show yourself!" I screamed, starting to get scared of this thing that was inside my head. "No need to be afraid, I'm only here to talk. Nothing more." The voice echoed. I slightly relaxed but remained on guard. "I've been watching you for a while, did you know that?" I tensed up once more. "I saw you that day, you remember, don't you. The day you stood by the cliff after her death, you were so close to jumping!" The voice seemed excited at the fact I was going to jump, I looked down. Slightly ashamed of the decision I almost made. "Then the blue one found you, just before you jumped. You didn't tell him though. He believes you were just watching the sunset. But you weren't. We both know that." The voice echoed once more. "Why are you telling me this!? What's the point of doing so! Your nothing but a cowered that won't even show themselves!" I snapped back, hoping that would get the voice to stop even if it's only temporary. "Oh, Kai." The voice echoed. The sides of my vision were green and filled my vision when the voice spoke. I gasped. "It's not that I am afraid to show myself, it's that a can't besides this. Not yet. So how about we have a little chat, shall we?" I held my breath for a few moments. The green continued to fill my vision. "Shall we?" The voice repeated. I sighed, giving in. "Fine." The voice laughed once more. The echo dining through my ears. "Now tell me, Kai. What brought you to that moment? What brought you to almost jumping?"
The voice paused for a moment, waiting for me to answer. "I think you know," I replied bluntly. The voice laughed once again. "Oh believe me I do, I just want to make sure you know. So tell me, what lead you to that point?" It pushed. I balled my hand into a fist, my eyes shut tightly. "STOP IT! YOU KNOW IT WAS THEIR DEATHS! THOSE GOD DAMN TWINS AND THAT BITCH WHO KILLED THEM!" I snapped. Screaming at the voice. The voice giggled at my response. That's when I saw a green ball, floating around me. It grew each time the voice talked it reminded me of when the overlord used garmadon the first time we fought him, but this voice was not the overload, so who was it? "Was it them that led to that?" The voice taunted a bit. I looked at the ball confused. "What?" The ball moved closer to me so I could see it. There was a light wind circling it. It was oddly calming. "You are correct, that's the real question. What? What brought you to that point? I can show you, how about we take a trip through memory lane, shall we?" Everything turned green for a moment before I stood back at my house. I looked at my arms to make sure I was fine, noticing a slight tint of a green glow coming from me. I looked up and saw the young boy once more. He was playing with his sister. Chasing butterflies. Doctor saunders was there, talking with his parents. I cringed at the thought. How many times had he been so close to him and he never knew it. "Aw, look how cute you were. You were so innocent." The voice spoke. The echo slightly dumbed down now. I watched as krux grabbed a sword and threatened my parents. Watched them walk away with him. I feel as if I should have been happy that they told the truth, however. Did I feel disappointed? "You know, I always thought it was odd. They were surrounded by so many weapons. They could have fought back, don't you agree?" The voice questioned. I looked over at the children who had now noticed their parent's disappearance. "Yeah..." I mumbled. We both sat in tense silence as we watched the children break down for a small while before the voice spoke up once again. "How about we move to the next memory." The voice was soft this time as if it felt the same way I did as I watched myself break down into a fit of rage, fear, and sorrow. The scene in front of me changed, we still were at the blacksmith shop. I was older now, not by much but enough to know that I was underage to be working like I was. A couple was in the store. They were whispering. "Did you hear about their parents?" The woman whispered. The man nodded. "I believe they left on purpose, probably didn't want children and just ran off." The man responded, grabbing a few weapons and walking over to my younger self. "That will be fifteen dollars, sir." My younger self stated bluntly. Not even looking at the two. The woman then picked up, as if curious. "Young man, I've been meaning to ask. Why do you still take care of this place? Why don't you run off to a better place to live? Possibly an orphanage?" She asked. I cringed at the thought of an orphanage. There's a reason we never left. The places by us were horrible. The young boy looked up at the woman. "I do it for my sister. She is young and deserves the best. I refuse to have someone else take care of her as many orphanages around here are illegal and unlawful. They wouldn't take care of her properly. Now I would appreciate it if you would pay for these items and get out." The young boy stated bluntly. The woman scoffed and threw down the money, grabbing her stuff and leaving. The man follows in her footsteps. "How rude, do you recall how many customers you had to deal with like that?" The voice questioned. Still soft. "It was often, most shoppers were usual. Those who need the blades to cut down anything on their farms. Most knew about our parents and always talked shit about them." I mumbled. The voice hummed as the scene changed once more. We were at the monastery. Nya and I were arguing the others only watched. "I don't need your help!" She screamed at me. I growled. "Why can't you just let me help you!? I only want to be there for you but you make it hard for me to do!" I screamed back. She only scoffed. "Why?! I'm independent. I don't need help and I don't need anyone there for me! You never asked for help! You do everything alone so why can't I?! Why does it matter if someone is there for me or not when I can handle myself!" She screamed. I winced, the memory of what happened that day stuck with me deeply. It was the day the others had found out about how Nya and I grew up. "You know what. Whatever. Once you do need someone's help, don't come asking me, after all, you are independent. How about you fight through your struggles alone without any help, how about you deal with raising money to live on your own for the rest of your life, how about you go to events alone from now on, how about you continue without friends or family on the day of the departed. IF YOU ARE THAT INDEPENDENT, HOW ABOUT YOU SPEND THE REST OF YOUR LIFE ALONE BECAUSE YOU PUSHED EVERYONE AWAY! WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING THOSE AROUND YOU WHEN YOU CAN DO IT ON YOUR OWN AFTER ALL?! IF YOU THINK BEING INDEPENDENT IS SO GREAT THEN HOW ABOUT YOU TAKE A TRIP BACK IN TIME BACK TO THE BLACKSMITH SHOP AND REMEMBER HOW HARD IT TRULY WAS FOR ME TO RAISE YOU ON MY OWN WITHOUT ANY HELP FROM ANYONE! IT'S NOT AS EASY AS YOU THINK, SO IM SORRY I DIDNT WANT YOU TO FEEL LIKE I DID GROWING UP, IM SORRY I WANTED THE BEST FOR YOU, IM SORRY I TRIED EVERYTHING IN MY POWER TO MAKE SURE YOU HAS CLOTHING, FOOD, WATER, HEAT, EDUCATION, AND A CHILDHOOD! EVERYTHING I GAVE UP FOR YOU, EVERYTHING I DID NOT HAVE! IM SORRY, THIS IS ALL I KNOW, IM SORRY I GREW UP TOO FAST AND COULDN'T BE A CHILD WITH YOU, AND IM SORRY I HAD TO BE THE PARENT BECAUSE OUR PARENTS GOT UP AND WALKED OFF WITH THAT DISCOURTEOUS POMPOUS BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T THINK ABOUT ANY OF THE CONSEQUENCES OF SAID ACTION. HAVE FUN BEING INDEPENDENT BECAUSE TRUST ME WHEN I SAY I WON'T HELP YOU ANYMORE!" I held my breath as my past self paused. Nyas eyes were wide in shock. The others who stood outside with master wu sat in silence. Not moving a muscle. Jay looked as if he was about to cry, cole was shocked. Zane stood there, his face cold and emotionless. His eyes screamed sympathy. I looked at myself. The boy looked as if he was about to cry. He blinked a few times. Tears started to swell in his eyes. "I gave up, everything for you, and this is what I get in return. Why can't you just see that I help because I care about you? Can't you understand that?" The boy's voice shook as he spoke before he turned and ran away, out of view of everyone. "I'm sorry no one listens." The voice spoke softly. "You know, we both are quite alike." The vision faded back to the dark abis, where the green ball floated in front of me. "We both were abandoned, mistreated, and forgotten. I only want to help you, Kai." I looked at the ball. "Why did you show me those things? What do you want?" I questioned the voice. The voice let out a comforting laugh. "I don't want anything from you, and to be honest. I planned on showing you more to get my point across but I don't want to torment you. I only want you to see what really lead you to your breaking point." The voice echoed. I looked down at the floor. "What do you think that was then?" I questioned. The ball circled me briefly. "You poor thing, you spent your entire life helping others, but no one ever helped you in return. Not even your friends. You were abandoned and broken down before gaining a burden in which you were not treated with the respect you deserved. You are thrown to the side and pushed under the rug often and the citizens of the Ninjago treat you like your an animal to be controlled. Then what became of the few people who did care. That's what broke you." I stood there in silence as the ball floated back into my view. "I want to help you, Kai." The voice spoke. I looked up at it. "Help me?" I questioned. The voice laughed. "Don't you think it's time you get the respect you deserve? Don't you think it's time those who hurt you pay for their actions? Don't you think it's time you stop helping others and help yourself?! D"don't you think it's time you do what YOU want?" I paused at the idea. Being able to do what I want for once sounds enticing. "What's in it for you?" I questioned. Knowing there would be a catch. "I only ask one thing from you Kai. I need an artifact that can bring me to your world. There, I can help you. Give you everything you desire. I don't desire anything but you, being by my side. We both were abandoned, we both were used. It's time we both take back what is outs, don't you think?" The voice questioned. I hummed and nodded. "Deal, what do you need me to do?" I asked. "Get me the artifact. I can not explain what it looks like or what it is, but you will know when you see it. I will be there by your side. Speaking to you through your head, so be careful when speaking to me." I nodded. "Then what?" I questioned. "Do what you like. You have the power, you want revenge. Take revenge. If you want pain, then it shall be yours. You can do whatever you want Kai. It's your world after all." I nodded with a grin slowly growing on my face. "And what about you, will you do what you like? I don't want to mess with your plans after all. If we both want the same thing then-" I was cut off by the voice. "Don't worry about that Kai, I am only here for you. If you wish for me to have a say, I will speak. If you wish for me to go, I will leave. So what do you say, I won't offer my help again."
The grin free wider and I laughed at the idea of finally being free of everyone else burden. "You have a deal. This world will feel the flames outburn the fire that danced the earth before." The voice laughed. "Good, it's about time you take the spotlight and play the game which they played for years. It's about time we become the dungeon masters instead of the pawns." It laughed. I nodded. "Indeed.
