Y/n's pov :

[ a few minutes later]

*click*

I sat in the passengers seat.

I look down to see if my shoulder was doing alr

There was still dry blood and it seemed like a bit of fresh blood leaked through the bandages.

'What kind of bullet was he using to make me lose this much blood?'
I thought to myself as I just stared at my shoulder.

Within every second of staring at the open wound I saw more blood seep through the use to be fresh bandages.

'Maybe i should've let those people help me clean my wound. But I mean I would still have to pay over 300$ just for the cleaning. Jeez I wish I wasn't 22.'
I was lost in my thoughts for awhile.

*sigh*
I heard techno close his door with a thump.

I didn't look at him tho.
I was still in my thoughts.

'Why would the case be about the past? Ethan knows that there's a rule for stuff like that. It doesn't make sense.'
I kept thinking.
And thinking
And thinking.

I couldn't realize that techno was tapping on my left shoulder.

I didn't wanna look at him tho.
I was deep in thought.

'Mark is in jail. There's no way this case is about him. Because if that were true that would mean he's out of jail.'

"Y/n. Why don't you take a nap for awhile?"
I heard techno say
Finally I looked at him.

"You were in your mind for about 5 minutes. I know we basically just met this morning but if we are gonna work together we have to at least be there for each other

Techno explained as we made eye contact

Every time he looks at me with those reds it makes me feel like I'm looking at a handsome devil

Someone who can hurt people within seconds.

His eyes make me think of a snake.
A black snake with dark red eyes

Ether way you know you can't date or get attached to anyone in this line of work

" I don't think your alr. I mean you were looking at me for a brief 2 minutes and you were deeply in thought about something.

I looked away from him and looks at the passengers window

" I might tell you later. Not now tho. Its to risky."
I explained to him

After that it was silent for awhile.

[10 minutes later]

*ring ring...ring ring!*
My phone began to beep like crazy.
I reaches for my phone and and saw that Ethan was calling me.
I looked at techno

He nodded and answer.
I pressed the speaker button for both of us to hear
" hello?"
I asked
" y/n, you and techno start the case today. You have two weeks to solve it. I rented a air bmb in the middle of NYC. You can start tomorrow but I recommend you start today. Good lucky"
I heard ethan explain.

"Mhm.."
Is all I said before hanging up on him and placing my phone down.
" you heard that right pinky pie?"
I asked him
" mhm."

Then everything was silent.. again

Calling him pinky pie was funny to me.
But I don't think he likes being called that.
Eh to bad that name is staying.

" you know.. I joined because of my dad.."
I said breaking the silence.

" I joined cuz I was bored-"
Techno said as I turned my face to look at him.
Ain't no wayyyy-

" really?"
I ask him.

" hey. Wanna get McDonald's? I'll pay"
Techno suggested.
I just chuckled
He's really getting under my skin.

He seems different.

"Sure. Wake me up when were there. I don't  know about you but I'm Hella tired. Ima take a small nap"

Before closing my eyes.

[ a few minutes later]

Techno's pov:

"Thank you have a nice day"
Said the lady as she passed me the food I ordered.
Y/n was sleeping and I didn't wanna wake her up.

I'll admit I do feel like a dick for making her go into the situation with no vest and no weapon to defend herself with

I guess I got to cocky.

I'll apologize to her when she wakes up I guess.

I ate a fry because I was hungry

Y/n's phone began to ring.

I gently grabbed her phone and looked at the number.

"Mom."
It read.

'This shouldn't be to bad.'
I thought to myself as I answered the call.

" hello?"
I asked.
" are you y/n?"
Asked a lady.
She sounded like she was in her early 40's.

She does sound like y/n that's for sure.

" no Mam. This is y/n partner"
I explained.

'Shit I didn't say I was her work partner'
I started to panic

Theady from the other side of the line started to laugh.
" oh okay. Well I was just calling her to let her know that I'm going to work "
The lady explained.

'Don't tell me she thinks I'm y/n's boyfriend.'
I thought to myself.

I look over to see y/n sleeping.
Then I looked back at the road.

*sigh*
" um I know this might sound weird but. What's y/n's address. I wanna drop her off she's sleeping"
I asked trying to not sound like a creep
" ohh. Well her address is ###### ## #####"
She said.
" oh okay thank you Mam"
I said as she just laughed
" It's fine honey don't worry"
She said with joy.
After talking for a bit y/n's mom said she would make food before she left for dinner.

I told her i bought McDonald's and she said that was fine.
Soon after I hang up the call and before driving to y/n's place.

*snores*
I looked over to see y/n still sleeping.
She looked peaceful.
She looked like she's been through a lot.
I mean she has.
Especially because she's the child who witnessed her father getting killed by his best friend back when she was 8.

*sigh*
I kinda feel bad for her.
