the other gods were speechless. they had and had not expected this. they knew hephaestus was hideous, and did not blame the love god. zeus shakes his head. 'no, no gifts will be given back. all you have done hephaestus is made a fool out of yourself.' zeus sternly says. hermes and apollo snickered how lucky ares was, aphrodite was a beauty. 'i have a proposition..' poseidon speaks up. first glance at aphrodite's nude body, poseidon fell in love. 'ares, pay the debt of the marriage gifts and i will marry aphrodite.' ares looks into the eyes of his lover, the two knew they could never be truly together. he felt that if anything, aphrodite deserved a better lover than hephaestus. he sighed with a soft smile, 'alright.. i will.' poseidon smirks, eyes roaming the love god's body. then suddenly hephaestus squeaks up, 'w-wait! what do you mean!? y-you can not marry m-my partner!' poesidon quirks his eyebrows, 'did you not just say you wanted to put your marriage to aphrodite to an end?' hephaestus blushes in embarrassment. deep down he still loved aphrodite, although they were unfaithful he did not want to give them up.
