2 years later

The music swelled, and for a second Dream was worried he couldn't do it. Every doubt and every worry flooded him and he was frozen in place, his breathing ragged and his stomaching churning. Then Techno squeezed his arm and started walking forward. Dream nearly stumbled over his own feet, the damn heels near impossible to walk in.

They rounded the corner and the moment Dream's eyes landed on Wilbur, every doubt disappeared into smoke. The music faded away and everything slowed, the world blurring and pushing Will into focus. He was grinning from ear to ear, his tux accenting the sharp lines of his body. His hair was groomed for once, and he was even wearing nice shoes.  It was a day for miracles.

Then everything caught back up and Dream was walking forward, beaming at the crowd. The skirts of his dress trailed behind him in a pale, silken river. A veil adorned his head, the gauzy material barely hiding his face from the sight. Fine with him, he never wanted to hide behind a mask ever again.

When they got to the altar Techno pulled him into a bear hug, and when he let go there were tears in his eyes.

"You're crying?" Dream asked under his breath, shocked.

"Your stupid veil scratched me," Techno replied, shaking his head. He turned and walked to his seat, and Dream turned to face the altar with a triumphant grin decorating his lips. As he ascended the steps, Wilbur's face only got happier and happier.

Dream finally got to the top of the altar and turned to face Wilbur. His husband-to-be gently pushed the veil over his head, and Dream melted under his gaze. When his hands were lowered, Dream grabbed them and held them tightly. Wilbur squeezed back, and then the ceremony began.

"Friends and family, I welcome you here today to celebrate the joining of these two lovers, Wilbur Soot and Dream Taken," Puffy said, looking spectacular in her red suit.

"Wilbur, please repeat after me. Dream, I promise."

"Dream, I promise."

"To cherish you always, to honor and sustain you."

"To cherish you always, to honor and sustain you."

"In sickness and in health, in poverty and in wealth."

"In sickness and in health, in poverty and in wealth."

"And to be true to you in all things until death alone shall part us."

"And to be true to you in all things until death alone shall part us," Wilbur finished, practically glowing. Puffy then had Dream repeat the same thing, his eyes never leaving Wilbur.

The ring exchange was next, and Drista gracefully waltzed up the altar, a shit-eating grin on her face. She was the only one who had been able to come, both of Dream's parents ignoring him.  Unsurprising, seeing as this is a fan fiction.  Speaking of Drista, she held out the pillow with the rings and Wilbur picked one up and slid it onto Dream's finger. Dream did the same, brushing his fingertips over Wilbur's knuckle.

"Now, for your vows," Puffy prompted. Wilbur swallowed.

"Dream, I swear to you on all the immortals that I will love you forever. Through burning buildings and blown up prisons, I have always loved you." The crowd chuckled knowingly. Dream saw Kristen wipe her eyes. "Until death do us part, you can't get rid of me."

Dream choked on his tears, laughing a little to himself. Of course Wilbur made it a joke.

"Wilbur Soot, you came to me at a low point in my life. You were the light at the end of the tunnel, you pulled me out of my corrupt nature, and ever since I have never wanted to leave your side. You are the light of my life, as cliche as it is. I-." He choked on his words, tears starting to fall freely now. The adoration radiating off of Wilbur was heavenly, nearly suffocating in its potency. He reached up and wiped away the tears, hoping his mascara hadn't washed off. "I love you, and will be by your side until death do us part."
