It was no surprise to you that Tony had turned down all the apartments that looked like the belonged in a horror movie. He clearly wasn't going to let you stay in anywhere that didn't have a laundry system in your apartment. So, you decided to go with the flow and humour him. Tony was going to get his own way, whether you liked it or not.
As the day went on you had decided to check out one that was right next to the Avengers Tower. Tony had texted you the address and when you arrived the building was brand new. It looked like it had only just finished being built. When you walked in, the smell, affirmed it all. It was like a fresh car smell but for a complex.
It had a fancy chandelier, even in the foyer and it somehow screamed 'Tony Stark'. You had a sneaky suspicion that he, perhaps, owned these apartments. It wouldn't shock you if that was the main reason, he was so adamant that you look at this complex in Manhattan. These apartments were luxury, not for the likes of you but if Tony insisted you would simply be a fool to run.
The estate agent you were meeting was gracious enough to give you the keys so you could look around yourself. When you walked in you took a step back almost immediately, never in your life had you seen such grand accents and the view, well that was enough to sell the whole thing for you.
It was far too much for just one person to live alone in but maybe, you could bring a friend to join you one day. Maybe even AJ? Even if it was just for a week until he, inevitably, went back home.
"Wonderful, isn't it?"
You turned around sharply and put a hand to your chest, "You really need to stop doing that."
Tony laughed and shut the door behind him, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest, "I quite like sneaking up on you."
You scoff playfully and walk over to the giant windows (that were basically walls) and look at the view in front of you. You couldn't believe that this was your life, for now.
You didn't want to think of the day that was all over, and Tony had had enough of paying for this. You wanted to be able to pay for yourself and not rely on him, but for now it was your only option.
"Do you own these apartments?" You question, spinning around to look at him with a smile on your face.
"What gave it away?" Tony asked quite smugly, removing himself from the wall and walking towards you.
"The chandelier." You shrug.
"The chandelier?" His head tilted to the side as he stopped in front you. Your heart was racing, you didn't understand why but as he was stood in front of you, you could smell is expensive cologne and his mint scented breath as he spoke.
"It's the same one in the Tower. Not really hard to deduce." You replied, looking into his eyes. God, he was handsome.
Tony just wanted to put his arms around your waist and pull you into him and usually he would have. With any other woman, he wouldn't have thought twice about being overly confident but with you, he didn't want to make a mistake.
"Well, Sherlock, you have out done yourself." He quipped, "Truly, I thought I was being sly by sending you this address."
"I don't believe you could be sly with me, even if you tried Iron Man." You smiled cheekily and turned away from him, walking towards the kitchen. It was much too big for you, but you had a small feeling that Tony wouldn't be too far away whilst you were here.
Tony was looking at you from the far end of the kitchen, "Due to this being my apartment complex, I will not need to pay for it."
You gave him a look of mock shock, "You cheap skate!"
"Well, you know, funds are quite low for me these days." He drawled.
Even with his sarcastic and witty response, you could not help but feel gratitude towards him. So you did what any normal human would do in situation such as this, and hugged him.
The first time you had ever given him a hug or even dreamed of being so forward, but you couldn't be happier to suddenly have him in your life, even if it was just a friendship, "Thank you, Tony."
Tony froze as your arms wrapped around his torso, your head just near his neck. You were almost the same height as him (him not being a very tall man) so as you spoke it trickled down the most sensitive areas of his neck, "Y-You're welcome." He replied, shakily, hoping you wouldn't notice.
You had noticed and you pulled back, sensing that he might feel a little uncomfortable and the invasion of personal space, "Sorry – I just – I didn't think."
Tony felt you pull away from him, but his hands held you in place firmly, "No don't do that – don't apologise." All he ever wanted to do was hold you like this for the rest of your life. You within his arms and not a single care in the world.
His voice was soft in your hair as he spoke, you could feel yourself melting further and further into his embrace. Lifting your head up to look at him in the eyes, your faces mere inches away from one another's, you spoke softly, "Tony?"
"Hm?" He looked down at you, looking at your lips and then your face. Every impure thought was running through his head. Why did he want you so bad?
You noticed him look at your lips and the blush rose on your cheeks, "Why are you doing this for me?"
He pulled away and coughed, "You know why."
"I mean, why are you really doing this?"
Tony coughed again and made his way over to your door, "I care about your well-being, just as any of us would."
Nodding your head at his response, he expected him to leave without another word but in true Tony Stark fashion, he did not.
"Besides, you are really useful to me right now so..." He smirked, opening the door.
"Tony!" You shouted, throwing a pillow in his direction, he caught it and laughed.
"I'll see you later. I think dinner is on the rota for tonight. I'll have someone bring you something nice to wear, my treat." And with a wink, he closed the door on you.
Leaving you to wonder, what his intentions truly were with you.
