Chapter 5.

Annabeth

"I love you." Annabeth stood paralyzed. What was she supposed to say to that?" How could he just throw that at her like she would be okay? Did he know her at all? (According to Percy, he did not)

"I'm beat," she chuckled nervously. "I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Annabeth, did you hear me?"

"Sorry?"

"I said I love you."

"You like me, you mean?"

"No." He took her hands in his. "I said I love you. I'm in love with you."

"A—are you sure? Like you're confident in that statement? You don't want to take it back or think about it , not even just a little bit?"

"What's there to think about? I love you, and what's wrong with that?" Everything, she thought.

"Nothing, nothing is wrong with that! Who doesn't love getting told that they're loved? Not me! I love getting told that someone loves me!" She wasn't sure if the panic had reached her voice yet or not. She wasn't sure if she wanted it to, either.

"Why aren't you saying it back?"

"Do you think now is the best time to tell me this? Like, my boyfriend was just here and yelled at us, do you think now is the best time to do this, Ryder?"

"Maybe I am an idiot."

"No, no, why do you say that?"

He looked her straight in the eyes. "You just called Percy your boyfriend."

"It was an accident! I didn't mean to. Please, if you just—just let me explain, okay? I'll tell you everything you want to know."

"How long did you guys actually have feelings for each other?"

"We have been dating since we were sixteen. We got together on his birthday."

"And how long before that did you know you liked him?"

"Oh... well, under ten years."

"You said you would be honest with me."

"Fine, it would have been five years had I not kissed him on his birthday."

"Five years. Five years."

"About."

"And you told him you loved him."

"I did love him, yes."

"And what was that whole hell thing he mentioned?"

"We met at this camp for kids who have ADHD and dyslexia and we called the reading class hell because, well, reading felt like hell."

"He said, he went for you?"

"Well, I wanted the best for him so I asked him if he would go for me as a sort of favor for me, but I just didn't want him to be illiterate."

"Can you tell me why you don't love me?"

"I didn't say I didn't love you, I just don't think I'm ready to say it."

"Okay, why? If it's because you don't love me, it's best to just tell me."

"Why don't I..." Her hand traveled down to his pants.

"I suppose it would make up for it," he shrugged.

She got on her knees, the wood already hurting her already bruised knees.

She slowly undid his zipper. She hated giving blow jobs. Especially if Percy hadn't had anything healthy within a week. But she needed to get Percy out of her head. She "needed*1" to give Ryder head. (Ha)

When she took him in her mouth, she could feel herself wanting to gag. She resisted, and tucked her thumb into her hand. It wasn't so much that he was too big for her mouth—on the contrary he felt too little—and more so the fact that he tasted bad. No better way to put it. His member didn't taste good, and neither did his precum nor his cum. She realized it was the first time tasting him, and that she never wanted to do it again.

He hadn't lasted very long. Maybe just barely under a minute, if she was being generous.

Breathing heavily, weak in the knees, he sat down on the couch. "This—this is why I love you. You're so generous." He moved her hair around, messily.

All Annabeth could think was how she needed to go spit into the toilet or vomit. She wasn't sure, but she could still taste him on her tongue, and it wasn't as enjoyable as it could have been. Or how it was with Percy.

~insert a line~

Percy

She just closed the door in his face? She couldn't be over him already. It was, like, impossible. He wasn't over her. Her boyfriend looked like him, so that was reason enough to believe that she wasn't over him.

He remembered the days she would come home all mad at some coworker. She would come home in a pissy mood, but that wouldn't stop him from making her feel better.

There was something wrong when he was there, he could sense that she was missing something, and though he wasn't sure what it was, he wanted to give it to her. He would give the world to make her happy. (Despite the fact that he cheated on her of course)

He walked back into Jason and Piper's apartment, already knowing how it would go.

"How'd it go, Perce?"

Percy only gave them a sorry look and fell back onto his bed. (Their couch)

"That bad?"

"Worse than I could have ever imagined. She had a boy over." Piper snickered so she walked into her bedroom.

"She had a boy over?"

"I walked in and they were on the couch just making out!"

"You knew this was a possibility. She started dating fairly quickly after you guys broke up."

"I know, but it took us like five years to get together and now she takes two minutes!?"

"How about we get you on Tinder?" Jason didn't think it was the best idea, but he didn't know what else to offer him. Percy was twenty seven and had never been in a breakup, nobody knew what to expect from him.

"I don't want to be on Tinder. I want Annabeth back."

"She probably just needs time. Now, if you need me, I will be over in my bedroom with Piper. For everyone's sake, uh... don't need us."

"I should probably call my mom. I have to tell her that we don't need the cabin in Montauk, ever." Jason stood up and immediately sat back down.

"What if we still went?"

"What?"

"Who's to say we can't still go? Like, why not?"

"Annabeth—"

"What could the Montauk house have to do with Annabeth?"

"We have a trip scheduled for, like, next week."

"This is good, we'll all go all seven of us. We will all join you guys so you have to go."

"What?"
