Jennie's joy flooded like a flower, and her spirits bounded higher, hearing the extraordinary piece of news. For four years, she has been searching for her savior, and at last, today, she got a breakthrough. Like a child squealing in delight, Jennie raced towards Lisa and hugged him tightly. ''Thank you so much for finding him, Lisa.''
Lisa lifted his hand to pat Jennie's head, but his fists clenched in the middle. His heart seared in pain, witnessing Jennie's happiness directed towards the other man. Pain ripped through his chest, poking his heart with tons of sharp needles. When he promised to find the man, Lisa did not feel sad, but there was an immense sense of oppression in his heart today.
Jennie released herself from the hug when she felt something suddenly went wrong with Lisa. True to her intuition, his facial expression hardened. ''What's wrong, Lisa? Are you not happy?'' Extending her hands towards his face, Jennie pinched his brows to loosen up his tight muscles.
Grasping Jennie's hand, Lisa kissed her knuckles. ''No, Sweetheart. I am happy.'' He shouldn't get disappointed over this matter. The man has given a second life to his Jennie, and he can't drown in his jealousy. If not for him, he wouldn't have a chance to meet Jennie. He should genuinely thank him for that matter. Jennie is in his arms, and it is all that matters. No one can take her away from him. ''I got a little envy seeing you smile for some other man. I heard from a little bird that only her husband can make her happy?'' To not sound serious, Lisa playfully teased her. Jennie has been searching for that man for four long years, and he doesn't want to upset her with his foul mood.
''Don't tease me. I only wanted to thank him for saving me.'' She pouted like a wiry cat. Not only thank that man, Jennie wanted to ask how he knew about her. The day he cried, calling her name, was still fresh in her memory. Despite her injuries, she felt his heart palpitating with fear.
''Alright, I am not teasing you anymore.'' Lisa turned serious. ''When do you want to meet him?''
''Tomorrow?'' Jennie eagerly looked at him for Lisa's reply. The quicker, the better because Jennie was not able to control her curiosity.
'Impatient brat.' Lisa muttered under his breath.
''Fine. I will arrange it then.''
''Thank you, babylicious.'' Jennie kissed Lisa's cheek; her face lit up with a bright smile. ''By the way, what's his name, and how did you find his address?''
''France asked the hospital group heads to check with the staff. The first time you got admitted into the hospital on that night, the doctors and nurses were tending to your wounds, and they haven't got a glimpse of the man who brought you to the hospital. So, they couldn't help us. It was not yielding any results. So, two months back, we made a special request to try with the patients. Lucky to us, a patient sitting outside has seen him.''
''But how did the patient know the address? How did they know about me?'' Jennie quizzed. ''Do you think we got a fake call? What if the patient is a fraud money-grubber?'' Jennie doesn't want to soar heights until she receives accurate information. She doesn't want to mistake her savior for some other man. He holds a special place in her heart. Of course, no one can replace Lisa.
''I had the same question initially, but the patient we are talking about is none other than Carlos Ellison, one of the most influential business magnets. He stayed there for a while to treat his appendix.'' Lisa explained.
''Carlos Ellison?'' Jennie pondered. ''I think Francy knows him.''
''You are right,'' Lisa replied.
Jennie's facial expression hinted to Lisa that she is still skeptical and not accepting the reason. He lifted her chin and gazed into her eyes. ''You still not believing?''
