Wrong Timeline || Mattheo Riddle

Chapter 4- Christmas Eve (Edited)

Time Skip Info: Avery and Kate have become part of the Slytherin friend group. Avery has her own private room as well as Kate. They have all been trying to find ways to get back to their original timeline. Avery and Kate dislike the golden trio.

Friday:

Avery's POV:

It was Christmas break and kids were getting ready to leave. The castle was technically going to be empty. The only professors staying were slughorn and Hagrid. Of course the headmaster too. The only people in the friend group staying were Kate, Mattheo, Theo, and I.

The rest had families back at home to get to. It kind of hurts. The fact that you have nowhere and no one to spend the holidays with beside one person in a place you've barely lived in. Draco has his mom. Blaise has his parents. Enzo has his mom and Pansy has her sister and mom. Now thinking about it why didn't Mattheo just go home with Enzo? They are half brothers. Honestly I didn't need to know since it's none of my business, and I didn't  really care.

The next day:
Saturday:

I was in bed thinking about what I'm going to do this Christmas. I heard banging at my door and got up to open it. I was wearing some black and red plaid patterned pants with a black crop top. When I opened the door I saw Kate and welcomed her in. She had a gift box in her hand. Maybe for me?

"So I planed out what we are doing today!" Kaye squealed. Usually her plans never go according to plan and they never end great.

"Tell me Kate bishop, what have you planned for us on Christmas Eve?" I asked in a very British old time voice. We started laughing.

"Okay, okay, first, we go to breakfast in our pajamas. Second, we have a winter picnic out by the lake. Third, the boys meet us at the lake and we go ice skating. Fourth, we probably fell through a hole in the ice so we head to the kitchen to make hot coco and cookies. Fifth, we have movie day in your dorm and open two presents of our choice. Sixth, we have dinner in your dorm by sneaking food. Seventh, we watch more movies. Eighth, we have a sleepover in your dorm." Kate seemed so excited. I did like this plan. I shook my head 'yes' she started squealing. We headed to the great hall to meet the boys for breakfast . The hall was empty and it was just us four. The two boys and the two girls.

"Morning!" I smiled. I headed to the right side of Mattheo. I sat next to him and he gave me a little smile. I think he's warming up to me!

"You're in a good mood." He raised a brow and started eating.

"Well, that's because I'm with my friends." I smiled and looked at them. I then looked away into the fire. Memories from the compound on Christmas come rushing back. I looked back at them and we all talked about our plans for today.

Once we were done Kate and I headed back to our dorms to get changed. I hadn't realized until now that we were all wearing matching pajamas. Well, beside Kate. Instead of wearing black and red plaid pants she was wearing purple and black, but beside that we all had plaid pants and blacks shirts.

I put on some black leather snow pants, a white long sleeve turtle neck, white snow boots, and a black puffer jacket with no hood. I had a grey hat with a pom Pom on top. My hair was already wavy so I just left it be. I grabbed my white sunglasses and put it in my pocket. While I was in the bathroom putting some dry shampoo in my hair I heard a knock at the door. I went over to open it. Behind the door revealed Kate.

"Hi Kate." I smiled and politely welcomed her in. She went over to my bed and sat down.

"Avery, are you okay? At breakfast you didn't seem yourself." She said in a concerned tone. My smile faded away. I walked over to her.

"Yea, I'm fine. I was just missing the compound a bit. It isn't a big deal really." I lied. The truth was, I really missed the compound. I had nobody but Kate to spend Christmas with. We can't even go home right now and we've done barley anything to figure out how to get back. But, I wasn't gonna tell her that. Im suppose to be the strong, kept together friend. I'm suppose to be the one asking Kate if she's okay. Not the other way around.

"If you say so. But, I'm always here to talk to okay? You can't always be taking care of me." She smiled.

"Yea I know." I laughed a bit. I smiled back and she embraced me with a hug. We sat there for a little then headed out to lunch with the boys.
