Chapter 19: Aquafina Corrina: Gym5

Corrina the one that is more than a swimmer

Neil read the sign outside of the blue gym and walked inside.

Not to anyone's surprise the gym was full with swimming pools with some empty and some full.

"Greetings Challenger! I am Dune the gym instructor, if you want to get to Corrina's Cham...." A middle aged man in a tight swimsuit bursted out from the pool, however Neil avoided him and went to a red device on the wall.

"Seems like this device only raises the water level of a single pool, however...... if I calibrate the main wires here I can..." 'twist' 'Shhhhhhhhhhwaaaaaashhhh!" All the empty pools fill with water as Neil messes around with the switches.

Neil walked on the floaties in the pools until he met Corrina face to face.

The brown haired girl smiles as Neil gets closer.
"Neil! Do you remember me, from the beauty contest, you beat Lexi and now you're finally here".

"Yep, she was tough, now let's see how tough you are", Neil took out his pokeball.

"Oh someone's fired up, just so you know, I won't lose" Corrina smiled and took out a dive ball from the strap on her blue swimsuit.

"Wait! I have to supervise this match!" Dune butted in.
"This gym battle will be a 5v5, the challenger Neil has the privilege to send out his first pokemon, start!".

"Umbreon come out" Neil sent out his dark skinned cat fox with blue rings on it's body, it stood on the numerous blue platforms across the pool.

"Umbreee" the creature shouted, he was fully ready for action.

"A shiny Umbreon?! You're just full of surprises aren't you? Well Gyarados show your stuff!" Corrina counters by sending out the giant sea monster into the water.

Neil took a look at the blue monster and thought of a strategy on the spot, (Gyarados is quite powerful with special attacks but it's not so much a physical attacker)
"Umbreon get in close and use iron tail!".

The the black fox rushed at the sea monster and jumped hitting the face of the monster with incredible force however.

"Grrrrrrr" the monster growled slightly annoyed by the hit.

"What?" Neil wondered, "that should have done more damage".

"Heh? You didn't notice did you? Gyarados has the ability "Intimidate" it lowers the attack stat of opposing pokemon! Now the retaliate with aqua tail Gyarados!" Corrina yelled.

"Gyyyrrrrrrrrrrr!" The beast swept the fox away with it's long scaly tail covered with water.

"Ummmmmm!" Umbreon hit the water platform hard as it fell.

"Damn, I miscalculated, Umbreon up, get some distance and attack with dark pulse now" Neil pointed.

"Umbreee!" The black fox released a wave of black energy from it's mouth straight at the fish again.

"Counter it with Hydro pump!" Corrine ordered.

The beast shot out a highly concentrated blast of water rivalling the dark energy and causing a huge explosion that covers the entire field to be covered in fog.

"Now then, blend in with the fog and use Faint attack!" Neil ordered, the black fox then disappeared in the fog.

'Bam!' the fox appeared above the Sea monster and uses it's tail to damage it before disappearing again.

"Aqua tail let's go!" Corrina tried to get control of the battle once again however the fog lowered Gyarados's accuracy and it missed the attack.

"Now continue with a flurry of faint attacks" Neil ordered and Umbreon continued chipping away at the sea monster's health (slowly but surely it will go down).
