People keep slandering but I can't respond
Because if I do y'all call me crazy say my focus is wrong
I'm feelin' fed up yeah
This isn't natural no
Keep it together let it fall apart in music
I can't let them see the pain
When I'm the one that gets them through it
This some real life shit
Sometimes I feel like shit

Nobody Knows- Russ

Xie Lian had just ascended when the very next day temples were being made. The sight was glorious and at the same time hectic for Shen Yuan. The ostentacious temples made of gold pierced his eyes with how... they were too much, really.

People were running around in a hurry to build more and more temples, pray to the protagonist, prepare offerings, that the first few months after Xie Lian's ascension was a blurry mess. No worries for Shen Yuan though, his business was going good...

And the statues of gold with precious rubies on them, they were beauties, but Shen Yuan would bet his life that Hua Cheng could make better.

He had, after all, built thousands in that mountain of depression.

Though currently said male lead was in hiding from him. Who knows which place he hid himself in this time to escape from Shen Yuan, but Shen Yuan was nothing if not persistent.

But anywayyyy...

Street life was weird, because Shen Yuan was not used to poverty. But that didn't mean he wasn't a good survivalist. Which brings us back to the business Shen Yuan was doing.

Stealing.

Yes, that was right. He could've gone to beg, but apparently Hua Cheng had quite the reputation, much as Mu Qing had claimed to not know of him. It was not like the reputation was any good though.

Which meant even if Shen Yuan tried to cry as pitifully and prettily as he could muster his thin face to, he would only be kicked away, beaten up, or spat on. And he had tried.

To think the little male lead had faced this since before he could understand what malice and cruelty meant. Kids learned the meaning of those words in their English class, through books or through the Google. Then there were kids who experienced it first hand. Though he doubted such kids knew the right words to describe their situation. They could only feel, not knowing and understanding why they were treated like this, unknowing to the fact that it wasn't any fault of their own, the world was the one cruel to them.

So yeah, it was bad.

And that's why Shen Yuan resorted to stealing. Picking the pockets of arrogant noble kids was no skin off his back really! The guards on the other hand... he handled them well enough though, his go-to method of family-jewel kicking was very efficient after all! And there was a certain pleasure in seeing their faces contort in the most immense of pains, really, very satisfying.

Yeah, his blood thirsty assassin side was showing, he knows, and frankly, he didn't mind. This world would need that mind set if he was gonna accompany the male lead and be his loyal side kick.

And that was not making a lot of progress really.

Shen Yuan had made a schedule after he saw the male lead make an appearance at the same run down half finished temple of Xie Lian at the ass crack of dawn. As for why he was there? Chased by dogs, and he was a bad person, but an abuser of animals he was not.

So he saw the male lead and decided to come again at the same time to see if he had discovered the place, where the male lead would get the drive to live again.

Which meant waking up at the ungodly hour Hong Hong'er preferred. No fun, 0/10 ratings, it was f*cking cold!

But at least he was right! The male lead was there! And he was there everyday too!
