You entered my life out of the blue
And brought every other color along with you.
There was warmth and sunlight in the shake of your hand,
Magic I could never understand.
Red was our love and our every kiss —
With you, things never went amiss —
And it was as perfect as something can be,
I wished forever for you and me.
Orange was our hugs in your bed
That left us with many words unsaid
Because when love burns this bright,
It will extinguish itself into the night.
Yellow was the smiles we'd throw
In each other's way — they never did grow
More from the shade of what once was...
What is, after all, what we call love?
Green was the way your hand held mine,
Making me wish we had more time
Before my mum started telling me I'm still young,
I'll find someone else... My heart has been flung.
Blue is your color and the color of my tears
From when you did nothing but confirm my fears:
We lost our love somewhere along the way,
And you no longer had the force to stay.
Indigo was the sky when my screams
Reached the stars — my head still reels
When I remember the aching pain in my chest...
I felt like I had nothing left.
Violet was the dawn that caught me on the streets
Holding in my hand a fleeting peace
Brought by the loneliness I felt back then... And then there was blue again...
