Chapter 52.5: Two of a Kind

A loud panicked gasp was all that was needed to awaken the scarlet-eyed ravenette, who was asleep next to her boyfriend, who was the one who awakened her by accident. She groaned, rubbing her eyes a bit as she was wearing her nightwear. When she slowly opened her eyes, she found herself in the bedroom that she and Dairoku shared. It was in the middle of the night, but what Akame found strange.. was the fact that she could see in the dark clearly, almost as if she had night vision.

That wasn't the only abnormality... she could smell... blood, and it was powerful. She felt almost drawn to it. Her eyes briefly flashed their red color, before she shook her head, knocking her out of her state as she noticed that her boyfriend wasn't in the room... But.. despite that, she could smell him...

Akame: "That smell... It smells like.. Dai's blood... He's close.."  She mumbled, sniffing the air as she got up, picking up Ketsuekime in the process.  "Wait... why can I smell his blood..?"

She definitely found it strange, but decided that finding her boyfriend was top priority. So she followed the strong scents which lead her outside of the base and towards the cliff behind their base. With how strong the scent of her lover's blood was, she knew he was up there. After making her way up, she spotted him.

Yoake, in sword mode, was stabbed into the ground and crouching behind it was the Death's Harbinger, panting heavily as he grunted and growled. Just looking at him, Akame knew what was happening. With Ketsuekime lowered, she approached him.

Akame: "Dai..? Are you.. alright?" 

She knew what the answer was, but wanted to hear what he had to say. The male slowly stopped, before he gripped onto Yoake's handle and stood up, holding the large sword in his hand, its infamous blackened aura radiating outwards. He slowly turned to her, his eyes glowing a dangerous red as he had a crazed grin on his face; one that could compete with Akir—Uhh... Esdeath.

(A/N: "Shh! Shut the fuck up!")

Not only that, but Ketsuekime was also acting negatively, with a dark red aura surrounding it and clashing against Yoake's.

Dairoku: "Oh? Haha.. Such a delicious gem in front of me~"  He said, his voice becoming distorted and slightly crazed.  "Tell me... Do you bleed?"

Immediately, Akame rose Ketsuekime up, blocking a downwards strike from her possessed lover. She lets out a small grunt as the male vampire was pressing against her, sparks flying off of where his blade met her scythe-shaft..

Dairoku: "Yes.. Yes! Resist me more! It only makes me hungrier for your death!!" 

Akame slightly gritted her teeth together before she slid Ketsuekime upwards, curving the scythe blade over Yoake's blade, hooking it on it before she pulled roughly, sending both Zodiacs flying out of their hands and stabbing into the ground in a cross fashion. Dairoku only grinned more as he tackled his lover to the ground, pinning her down with his hands firmly around her neck.

Dairoku: "You have such a strong will... Hehe, I can't wait to see how you break and beg for mercy~ To see your crying face when you are killed by the one you love the most hands~!"

He slowly began to squeeze her throat, as the female below him narrowed her eyes slightly. She could tell, just from the tone that he was using and form the way he worded his sentences, that this wasn't Dairoku... Akame could feel herself slowly blacking out as he pressed down harder on her. She had to do something, otherwise she'd die. So with her raising her hand, she made one swift motion, with a loud slap being heard.

Dairoku's eyes widened as a red bruise was one his left cheek, from where Akame had slapped him. His eyes flickered before they stopped glowing, with both Yoake and Ketsuekime's auras vanishing. Looking down at her, Dairoku's eyes widened as he quickly removed his hands from her neck, staring at her with a look of horror. Akame's expression, was normal at first.. but slowly, it turned into one of hurt. She looked at him sadly, as he did the one thing he promised to never do...
