Your Secret Valentine

Rain splashed against the foggy window,

Its tears trailing down.

I gazed at it for an age,

My face set into a frown.

From a distance my mother called out to me.

She said she just received the post.

I got up and went slowly to her,

To see that I beheld the most.

A simple red envelope and red roses,

I smiled: It was such a sweet thing.

But shock set inside me,

At the promise of a plastic silver ring.

I opened up the envelope in hast,

To find fancy writing inside.

And a poem I wouldn't ever forget.

Until the day I'd die.

It read, "To the love of my life,

Who's eyes are like stars.

That shine so brilliantly,

I'll remember them wherever you are.

Your face full of perfection.

Sculptured by an Angle's hand.

Your lips like woven velvet,

So succulent and grand.

A heart that is warm and loving,

And one day, I'd like to steal.

Then lock it to my own,

Covering it with my lips as a deal.

I love the way you laugh,

With a flourish and the blush on your cheeks.

That smile that drives me crazy, and

also make my knees go weak.

This is for you, my love,

A day I hope you will enjoy.

With love: is all you'll ever need.

No money, no game, no ploy.

I'll love you today and everyday,

Eventually I will make you mine.

But for now I stand in silence.

Loving you, Your Secret Valentine."
