No One's Coming to Help

I was fiddling with a radio hoping to contact someone off the island. I had been doing it for about an hour and was about to call it a night when a voice came through. It was hard to hear them and everyone in the yard was silent hoping something else would go through and thankfully something did. I immediately grabbed the microphone and began talking to whoever was on the other side. I was shocked to hear it wasn't the military but Duke's fireman. Once he said this I heard several groans and a few people swore under their breath they all hoped to know when they would be saved, but personally I was glad they were okay. Darrel said they were in the quarry and a lot had happened so I'm going to need a lot of space to write.

Darrel was busy steaming up Duke for his passenger train which was due in an hour. Duke was talking with Skarloey who was sitting in his open shed. While Darrel was polishing Duke's nameplate he saw Oliver rolling up to the platform. He then heard the sound of rattling as he saw Rheneas roll past, however something was off. Rheneas was making strange groans, it sounded as though he was in pain. Once he reached the platform he heard Oliver ask if he was alright, but then he screamed in fear. That was when the zombies began to attack Crovan's Gate. People all over were panicking as they were attacked. Darrel shut the shed doors to keep the attention away from them. He saw the massacre from the shed window as well as Oliver saving several people and leaving the yard.

They had only stayed there for a few minutes and everything had gone silent. Duke had been trying to keep quiet not to alert anything that could be outside and Darrel was using his radio trying to figure out what the hell had happened. That was when they heard an engine. It was Gordon who thundered past with the express. The coaches were all filled with bullet holes and blood coated the windows from within.

Then they saw something they weren't expecting. Gordon was being chased by several armed vehicles. Most of the vehicles stopped at Crovan's Gate while a few others as well as a fucking helicopter continued after Gordon. A bunch of armed men jumped out from the trucks and began to sweep the area. They then heard two men talking with someone right outside the shed. It was Skarloey, they had no idea how he had survived, but they were glad he was okay. Darrel thought he heard them say something about Skarloey possibly being immune and could be useful in testing.

After a few hours they heard the sound of yelling as an engine entered Crovan's Gate. It was Emily. She was exhausted and was glad the military was there and could help. If only she knew. A commanding officer then yelled at his troops to open fire on the coaches. Bullets filled the air as Emily screamed in horror as the her passengers were slaughtered. After a few minutes of hell some soldiers went through the coaches and killed the few who had survived as well as Emily's crew. The commanding officer then went up to Emily and shot her in the middle of her forehead killing her instantly.

He and Duke were horrified and knew they had to go or else they would be killed. Darrel began to open the shed door when they saw something in the distance. One was yellow and the other was blue along with three light blue coaches behind them. It was Duncan and Sir Handel. He waved to them trying to tell them to run. Sir Handel had gotten the message but Duncan and his crew didn't see them and they raced towards the military thinking they would help. They then saw Emily's corpse and it was too late bullets were sent flying and Duncan screamed in fear and pain. They took it as their distraction and raced away with Sir Handel. They had made their way to the quarry and heard Peter Sam yelling for help on the other side, however they couldn't make their way over to him as there had been a rock slide which damaged the equipment.

Everyone went silent after hearing this. All this time we had hoped the military would be our saving grace. Our shining light in a dark tunnel. Now we had no hope. We couldn't call for help as either no one would come or they would kill us all. If we tried to leave Sodor we would be gunned down as soon as we entered Crovan's Gate. This was a die or die situation. We were honestly about to give up all the hope we had.
