The Sleeping Lovers' Frozen Sanctum

I'm entering this poem into the ElysianPoetry biweekly contest, for the prompt 'Frozen Time'. I'm really happy with how it's turned out, I hope you like it :)

Time never passes in this room;
The clock never ticks or chimes,
Numerals etched uselessly on a translucent face,
Bored, senseless lovers,
Intertwined in a numb embrace.

I lay down Madman Across the Water;
Levon, the Goodbye serenade,
Fetch your coat, Tiny Dancer,
We should go out and skate,
On the blue lake's shield of ice
and face our fears,
That our bodies could fall through
And be frozen here.

I wouldn't mind, love,
because we could stay
Forever wrapped up;
We won't waste away,

The rising heat of our love
Could make it all disappear,
But this ice is our prison
Keeping us safe and near.

Let it all become eternal,
Watch the season never change;
When the needle leaves the groove, my darling,
Sleep to forget the pain.
