Levi's POV

We descended the stairs when I heard Historia groaning. "You could've been a bit nicer, Captain Levi."

"I don't recall being nicer in my books, Historia. You're being too kind to them. But if that's what Armin wants, then fine. But I'm not going to go out of my way to be "nicer" to people that had forced us to fight titans that were once humans. And you weren't there in Shinganshina when we fought."

"I should've been there."

"Even if you were, look at who came back. You could've been one of them to die. And we have no heir to take the throne. It would've been chaos- according to Erwin."

"It's just my observation... but are you a little cruel to Armin?"

"Considering that he was chosen to be Commander? He's too young and too inexperienced. But I trust Erwin's judgment. I would feel better if Erwin trusted it to someone that's not 15 years old and still a child." I glared down at Historia, seeing her look aside. "Then again, Moblit's not able to handle that pressure."

"So you hope for someone better than Armin?"

"More experienced. That little brat is a child. I'm one of the only other members that are older. I only wish that we had someone else that didn't recently join the Survey Corps. I rather have someone that had years of experience. Not like Armin. Erwin's a different man. No one can replace him."

Historia nods her head as we got to the bottom of the tower. "Then again, I am the queen. I am younger than you and I was in a worse position than Armin is. It's stressful to be expected to follow someone's footsteps or forge your path without the guidance of someone. Armin... please, Captain, be a bit easier on him."

"As I said before, I can't keep any promises." I cleared my throat, "Where do you need to go now?"

"I can walk to my room by myself. Have a good night, Captain." She walks towards her living quarters, leaving me alone in the tower that the prisoner was held in.

I turned around, staring at the stone stairs up. Something seemed... off. With her snarky remarks, I could tell that she'll be brewing something for me. How do I know? I was the same with Erwin. If I'm right, she'll plan to kill me. I scoffed at that idea, wondering how she'll trick me into her hands. She's a dangerous woman... along with being an annoyance.

Occasionally, I walked up to her room, to check on her. For a few hours, I caught her looking around the room, compiling ways to leave the room. A couple of times, I saw her trying to break the door down. I hear her scream in frustration. That's chilling to hear. When things went silent for an hour, I carefully unlocked the door and saw her sprawled on the bed, passed out. I shook my head, closing and locking it up again before descending the stairs.

I could hardly sleep.

In the morning, I went up to retrieve the woman. The second I pushed the door open, she swung some sort of wooden stick at me. I got hit, but I knocked it out of her hands. She gives a small shriek as I kneed her into the chest. As she was hunched over, I grabbed her hair and tugged on it.

"Why don't you be a good little rat for once?"

She stared at me with familiar deadly eyes. "Get off of me, you stupid, filthy midget!" She screeched as I held her firmly.

"For one, I'm not stupid." I gripped onto her hair much more tightly, causing her to screech a bit more. "And two, I'm not filthy. You should know better." I tossed her back towards the bed as I saw no fear in her eyes, but anger. "Get dressed."

"Trying to get off, little pervert?"

"Do you not want breakfast, four-eyed freak? If not, you can just stay here, undressed." I walked out of the room, holding the wooden door shut as I waited for her to get changed. "You have 10 minutes." I took Erwin's pocket watch out, watching the handstick. "If you're not ready by then, you're staying here without breakfast." I hear her groan before the sound of drawers being shifted through.

Once the 10 minutes were up, I opened the door, seeing her scowl. "What? Lost our manners? Can even knock?"

"You're done getting dressed, right? Let's go." I slipped the pocket watch into my inside pocket before reaching behind me for a pair of iron handcuffs. The second she stepped out, I clipped her wrists. She shrieked, glaring at me. "You think you'll be free to wander without some sort of chain?"

"How am I supposed to eat with these?" She held them up, shaking them to make an annoying noise. "Surely that's not great to eat with."

"Once we trust you, things would be easier. Bear with it. You're not going to die." I scoffed, holding her firmly by her arm as I walked her down.

The woman gave another one of her snarky responses. "Oh, I will. I'll starve to death."

My eyes rolled a bit as I grew more annoyed. The person to hold a titan is her? I wonder if she bore people to death with her snarky responses. "I'll shove food down your throat."

"I could choke to death."

"I think your death would be pleasant."

"Then why don't you kill me? Right here and right now- kill me! You can't because you're nothing! Just a sad little man that follows orders like a puppy!"

She headbutts me, and I winced at the pain. She smirked afterward, but I quickly grabbed her by the throat and tossed her against the stone wall. The woman yelps as her back met the wall and grunted as I pushed her higher. I could feel her struggling to breathe as I wait for her to realize I could kill her.

A few seconds later, I dropped her to the ground. She wheezes as her hands went to her throat, feeling it. She doesn't look toward me after it.

"I can kill you, for your information. I could cut your limbs off- leaving you with little stubs to live with. For one, the queen still wants your cooperation. And I hope you plan on helping us. Otherwise, you can look at death as an opportunity. Now, get up."

I grabbed her by the arm and practically dragged her towards the dining hall. She didn't give any of her responses as we got there. Though there was some red color on her neck. I would apologize if she did as well, but she didn't. I thought I shouldn't apologize as well. The woman didn't fight back anymore, probably fearing that I could do more. Either way... she was an annoying brat. More annoying than the ones I babysit daily.
