Gabi groaned, shutting his book loudly as he left his head fall on the hard cover. "I could always drop out, become a stripper. I think I'll be a great stripper." Smiling like a fool when he lifted his head, he wiggled his eyebrows at his friends. "Plus the ladies," he sighed wistfully. "All the beautiful ladies."

Rolling his eyes at Gabi, James turned to Adonis who had his eyes fixed to his phone, ignoring the latte in front of him. "Something up?" Sharply Adonis faced James who lifted an eyebrow at him and gestured to his phone. "You've been staring at it since we left the dorms. Are you expecting a text or something?"

He straightened up, pushing the phone aside and shook his head. "No, I'm not. I just kinda spaced out."

Still not convinced like he never seemed to be, James simply nodded and sipped on his iced tea as he relaxed in the chair. Adonis fought the urge to check his phone for a text from Selene, but his friends were here, trying to keep him company and he was ignoring them, especially since Gabi had reiterated a thousand times before they ordered their drinks at the school cafeteria how he gave up a party for this.

He looked around the cafeteria noticing the scanty flow of people, which wasn't odd. The cafeteria wasn't the most popular place in the college at this time of day. No one seemed to need a drink by eight pm when every other student was finding better ways to entertain themselves on a Tuesday night.

He'd gotten back the previous day, jetlag and the thought of his own bed luring him to a peaceful sleep. He'd texted Selene to remind her about their deal, but she'd simply replied with 'A deal's a deal.'

But he knew she left Greece today, her flight having been scheduled for two pm, meaning she should already be in Spain. Yet she hadn't replied to one of his texts.
He checked his watch again just in time to see the hour hand strike nine.

How long does it take to talk to someone?

"Donnie, are you listening?" He sharply turned to Gabi who watched him intently. He briefly glanced at James who had his attention on his phone screen. He sighed. "Yeah, you want to become a stripper."

Gabi nodded. "Well, yeah, but it's a thought in progress, y'know?" He shook his head. "But no, dude. I was talking about Carla."

He frowned. 'Who's Carla?"

"Blonde, body for days, legs of a model. She takes a few classes with us," James replied, unwrapping a lollipop. "oh, and she has a major hard on for you."

Adonis spit out his latte. "What?"

Gabi grinned. "Yeah, she's also got like these boobs you just wanna bury your face in, and I'm saying that as respectfully as I can." He grinned lopsidedly. "But yeah she also has a crush on you, not a hard on," He glared at James. " cause girls can't get hard-ons because they don't have the certain organ that you need to have to get hard-ons."

"Yes they do, you don't need to have a dick to get a hard on." He posted the lollipop in his mouth, and leaned back in his chair. "And it's a figure of speech, I thought you were top of your class? Or has all the booze and drugs wiped away your senses?" He grinned at his comeback while Gabi looked like he was mere seconds away from knocking him unconscious with the textbook in his hands.

"It hasn't, asshole, but I'm going to become a stripper, so books don't matter."

James grinned. "No offense, Gabi, but I'd rather poke my eyes out with this pencil," he waved said object in the air. "than watch you take of your clothes for any reason."

Adonis moved to cut off their argument when something stopped him. Somewhere in the cafeteria, the gentle evening breeze pushed the scent his way, and he felt his heart jump.
