Mornings

My eyes are on fire
Burning hotter than the depths of hell
Deathly cold hands make them sting
They take in my face
Gaunt and pale
Like it had never seen the sun
With dark hair falling on it
As my hands futilely push it away
Before bringing icy water to my face
My lips are cracked and my throat dry
Every breath scrapes against it painfully
My muscles are fatigued and weary
Barely keeping up my frame
My neck and my back bent horribly
As I try to ease the pain spreading through my body
My mind empty of all thoughts but one
I don't want to
