A New Life on a New Earth

Chapter 46

When Kara got home that night she knew that she would have to talk to Oliver about her conversation with Alex and she didn't know how he would react, so she was justifiably nervous. Oliver could tell that something was up and this was starting to worry him, so he looked at his fiance and asked, "Kara, you haven't been right since you got home. What is going on?"

"Oh, it was just a conversation that I had with Alex earlier. It actually made sense once I thought about it, but I don't know if you will like the idea or not." Kara said nervously.

"Well, what is the idea? You know I will let you know what I am thinking." Oliver said.

"You know how I got that offer from Cat to move up in the company and also a nice pay raise. Well, I was talking to Alex and I was like, I don't think I can take it with all that I have going on with being Supergirl and also writing articles. She said that I should bring Cat in so that she knows who I am and where I will be going when I leave at any moment." Kara said.

"That makes sense. I don't see what the problem is." Oliver said.

"It is what she said next that might be the problem. She said that I will be at my happiest if I came out to the world as a superhero and I happen to agree with her because I hate lying to everyone about who I am. The only problem is that if I come out as a hero everyone will put two and two together and know that you are the Green Arrow." Kara said.

"Yeah, that could be a problem. So, what did Alex seem to think of the situation? If the two of us are out as heroes then people will start to put it together that everyone else is as well." Oliver said.

"She said that the team had already talked about it and that everyone agreed with her, which is really surprising since everyone from your earth thought it was a good idea as well, being that they are used to being looked at as vigilantes and not heroes like they are on this earth." Kara said.

"That surprises me as well. So, they really all agreed to this?" Oliver asked.

"Alex said that it had something to do with the fact that all of them realize that they are heroes here where they were not on your old earth. I think everyone knows that things will be easier on everyone if we are out as superheroes because then we will not have to worry about sneaking away when we are needed." Kara said.

"You do make a good point there. I do agree that being known as heroes will make our lives a lot easier. I am just used to my earth where I would be arrested if I was outed." Oliver said.

"I know what you mean. That was my thought as well when Alex first brought it up, but then I thought about it and things are different here, so I thought it might be worth a shot." Kara said.

"I will do what you want to do. If you think this is for the best, I will follow your lead. So when are you trying to put this out there?" Oliver asked.

"I say we wait until after the wedding. It could cause problems if we were to do it now." Kara said.

"I agree. So, when you start your new job you will announce who we are to the world?" Oliver asked.

"What better way to make a splash as the new editor than releasing a big story like this." Kara said with a smile.

"That's my girl. So, should we tell the rest of the team what our decision is?" Oliver asked.

"I wouldn't worry about it tonight. Alex knows that we were going to be talking about it tonight, so I think everyone can wait until tomorrow. Right now I want to show you the rest of the decisions that I made for the wedding." Kara said as they both sat down and looked over the final pieces of their wedding.

The next night the team was meeting in the bunker and the rest of the team was wondering what Oliver and Kara's decision was going to be when it came to outing themselves. Thea was the most interested since she knew that it would take a while before her brother would come around to the idea.

"So, did you guys decide anything?" Alex asked.

"Yes we did." Kara said.

"Well, don't leave us hanging here. You know how impatient I can be." Thea said and Oliver nodded and smiled at his sister.

"We decided to do it. We are going to come out as heroes after the wedding." Kara said.

"Good. I think it will be best for the two of you." Lena said.

"Well, we had another thought while we were talking about this last night. As you know, people will probably make the connection between the two of us and the rest of you, so we were wondering if all of you would like to announce that you are heroes at the same time that we do?" Kara asked the team.

"You know, that would make sense because like you said anyone who is smart will be able to put the pieces together and know who the rest of us are as well." Sara said.

"Yeah, it might be good that we all announce at the same time. That way we are out in front of this and everyone will know not to mess with any of us." Roy said.

"I agree. We should all do this at the same time." James said and J'onn nodded in agreement as well.

"Ok, so after the wedding we will all out ourselves as heroes. Everyone in agreement with this?" Kara asked and everyone nodded as they all changed into their suits and went out for a patrol of the city to make sure that nothing was going on that needed to be taken care of by the heroes.
